How to decorate indoor flowers for the new year. Christmas indoor plants

What flowers can be given New Year, is it necessary to do this and what compositions are suitable for this holiday?

In Russia, there is no tradition of giving flowers for the New Year. However, who doesn't love a bouquet of gorgeous, fragrant flowers on this winter holiday?

It should be borne in mind that it is better to give a composition in the New Year's theme. Paper snowflakes, figures of Santa Claus and Snow Maiden, as well as artificial snow can take part in it.

Indoor flowers for the New Year

Indoor flowers are beautiful both in summer and winter, so they will be an extremely appropriate gift:

  • Christmas star - very well suited as a gift for the New Year, because its name alone gives a feeling of the upcoming holiday. A legend is connected with this plant about a young man who wanted to give Christ a flower, but he did not have enough money. And he found it under the snow. When the child brought this plant to the temple, it bloomed with delightful bright scarlet flowers. But it should be borne in mind that the Christmas star cannot be kept in the cold for a long time, and it will have to be carefully wrapped so that it does not wither.
  • Hippeastrum - usually this flower is presented as a gift for the New Year, because it is loved throughout Russia. This plant is a bit like a lily. It can be seen on old pictures or postcards.
  • Decembrist - as a rule, this flower blooms in late November or late January. Another name for the plant is zygocactus. The Decembrist is unpretentious in care, like all cacti. But in the process of flowering, do not touch the petals, because the plant is very fragile.
  • Hellebore - when Christ was born, people carried many different gifts. And for each subsequent birthday of Christ, they gave the most valuable. But the poor shepherdess had nothing, and the Angel who saw this situation threw a snow-white flower right under her feet. She just gave it as a gift.

What bouquet can be presented for the New Year?

A great option would be a gift of roses, because this plant is considered universal and always looks aesthetically pleasing. An appropriate gift for the New Year would be a bouquet of white orchids, pink roses- they will look very bright and festive.

An excellent option would be a bouquet of cream roses, red amaryllis.

You can add not only decorative things to the compositions, but also real fruits: tangerines, apples, pineapple. An excellent addition - New Year's cookies, gingerbread or sweets - for tea drinking at the New Year's table and just a pleasant surprise.

What bouquet for the New Year to give women?

The fact that a bouquet of fresh flowers will be an excellent gift for a woman for the New Year, do not even hesitate! You can give flowers such as roses, gerberas, callas, daffodils, Christmas stars, hellebore, Decembrists, hippeastrums. But it must be a thematic composition, so the floral present will look elegant and especially appropriate.

The following combinations of shades look interesting in compositions and bouquets:

  • red, green, golden;
  • white, blue, greenish yellow;
  • blue, white, purple, red.

It is important to consider that each shade has its own symbolism. For example:

  • Green - symbolizes the spruce.
  • Blue, blue and white - snowdrifts, icy lace on the windows, made by frost.
  • Red - symbolizes the star that we usually see on decorated Christmas trees.

To create a New Year's bouquet, experts use spruce branches, large white or red roses, lilies and many other flowers. They are decorated with various decorative toys, fruits, sweets or small figurines depicting the symbol of the year.

Women will be especially pleased with New Year's baskets with flowers, sprigs of spruce, tinsel, fruits and sweets. In this variety of presents, it is easy to hide the most important gift, which will be the culmination of the entire celebration.

Agree that it is in the New Year that everyone is waiting for the fulfillment of their most secret desires. So why not make, for example, in such an exquisite way an offer to your girlfriend? Or present your wife with a certificate for visiting the spa that she has been dreaming of for so long? Fantasize and make your loved one a truly magnificent surprise, decorated in fragrant flora.

If you are lucky enough to receive it or want to accompany this gift of yours useful advice, note: the poinsettia loves bright but diffused light, you don’t need to put it on the windowsill close to the glass - delicate leaves can get sick from such a cold touch.

Many people believe that poinsettia is an annual plant. However, if, after the end of its flowering, you cut the plant to the main trunk and place it in a dark and cool place, only occasionally moistening the soil, then in a few months new shoots will appear, on which Christmas stars will bloom by the next New Year.

By the way, from several plants different color you can get a very picturesque composition that will decorate your festive table or living room interior.

Decembrist (schlumbergera, zygocactus)

The peak of popularity of this flower falls on New Year's Eve weeks. No wonder it has another name - "Christmas cactus", and precisely because of the flowering time: from November-December to the very end of January. The plant during this period is literally strewn with buds and flowers! This is an ampelous plant, so immediately make sure that its new owners do not have to rack their brains where to find a hanging planter on holidays and where to attach it. The ideal option is to give a low stand along with the Decembrist, which can be placed in a convenient place in the living room. And such beauty is in sight and place!

The Decembrist is very unpretentious, but does not like extremes in the form of cold, extreme heat, prolonged drought in a pot or waterlogging. Observe moderation in caring for him, and by the next New Year, a whole hat of delicate flowers will bloom in your house!

Cyclamen

These flowers have been in fashion for a long time, and many home plant lovers love them for their delicate fragility and beauty. Cyclamen blooms in winter, seems to freeze in spring, is at rest in the summer heat, and comes to life in autumn, releasing new leaves and buds on long legs. When buying, choose cyclamen with many young buds, which usually "hide" under the leaves.

Cyclamen prefers a cool room with bright lighting, does not tolerate proximity to radiators or fireplaces, as well as spraying. To create the moisture it needs, you can simply keep the cyclamen pots on a tray of wet gravel or near a water source.

Bromeliads

This family has about 2,000 species of plants, among the "relatives" there is also a pineapple! If you decide to buy bromeliads as a gift, choose between vriesia, gusmania, neoregelia - these are the most popular varieties. Bromeliad loves warmth, but prefers to live away from the direct midday sun.

The most important thing: water this plant carefully, avoiding stagnation of water in the soil, but there should always be water in the outlet, in the funnel of leaves! In the hot period, the leaves of this plant need to be sprayed.

The gift will turn out great: flowering lasts several months and it will remind you of the wonderful New Year's mood for a very long time.

Spruce, thuja

What could be a more appropriate gift for the New Year or Christmas than coniferous plant in a pot? Yes, live Christmas trees, which are cut in large quantities and sold in December, do not lose their popularity among consumers, but many people regret, and sometimes only after a domestic scandal, throw away the crumbling spruce or pine tree at the end of the holidays.

A potted spruce or thuja can be transplanted in the spring to a house adjoining or country cottage area where she will delight you for many years. And perhaps you will even have a desire not to buy a pine tree and bring it into the house for the next New Year, but to take or take your family out into the air, decorate a live spruce with colorful lights, toys, and arrange an unusual holiday with health benefits.

Sakura is most often associated with Japan and its culture. Picnics in the shade flowering trees have long been an integral attribute of the meeting of spring in the Land of the Rising Sun. Financial and academic year here begins on April 1, when the magnificent sakura blossoms. Therefore, many significant moments in the life of the Japanese pass under the sign of their flowering. But sakura also grows well in cooler regions - certain types can be successfully grown even in Siberia.

We have prepared a hearty, incredibly appetizing and simply elementary dish for you today. Agriculture refers to such types of human activity, the successful outcome of which is not always directly proportional to the efforts made. Unfortunately, nature does not necessarily act as our ally in growing plants, and often, on the contrary, throws up new challenges. Intensified reproduction of pests, abnormal heat, late return frosts, hurricane winds, drought ... And one of the springs presented us with another surprise - a flood.

With the advent of the summer season, the question arises of growing strong and healthy seedlings of our favorite vegetables: cabbage, tomatoes, sweet peppers, eggplant and many other crops. Along with this, the question arises - how to grow decent seedlings and get healthy plants and a decent harvest from it in the future? For example, I have been growing seedlings for more than one season and protecting my garden from diseases with the help of biological preparations Alirin-B, Gamair, Gliocladin, Trichocin.

Let me confess my love today. In love with... lavender. One of the best unpretentious, evergreen and flowering shrubs that can be successfully grown in your garden. And if someone thinks that lavender is a Mediterranean or, at least, southern inhabitant, then you are mistaken. Lavender grows well in more northern regions, even in the Moscow region. But in order to grow it, you need to know some rules and features. They will be discussed in this article.

Having once tasted such an invaluable product as a pumpkin, it is already difficult to stop looking for more and more new recipes for serving it to the table. Pumpkin in Korean, despite its pungency and spice, has a fresh and delicate taste. After cooking, you will need to cover the salad and let it brew for at least 15 minutes. My nutmeg pumpkin is very juicy and sweet, so there is no need to crush it. If the pumpkin is of a different variety, then you can knead it with your hands so that it slightly releases the juice.

Lettuce, as the earliest and most unpretentious green crop, has always been held in high esteem by gardeners. Most summer residents usually begin spring plantings with sowing lettuce, parsley and radish. Recently, the desire for a healthy diet and a large selection of greens in supermarkets make gardeners think about which of these plants can be grown in their beds? In this article we will talk about the nine most interesting, in our opinion, varieties of lettuce.

Another “bonus” is always “attached” to the flowering of indoor roses - capriciousness. When they say that it is easy to grow roses in rooms, they are disingenuous. To bloom, indoor roses need to create literally ideal conditions. And vigilant care, attention and response to any plant signals is the main key to success. True, no matter how capricious roses may be, growing them in a potted format can be quite successful. And attentive flower growers should not be afraid of this.

Pollock is best cooked in the form of a casserole, separating the fillet from the skin and bones. Pieces of fish are mixed with a colorful vegetable set, poured with a sauce of cheese, sour cream and eggs. This fish casserole has a presentable appearance, and its taste is a bizarre mixture of subtle nuances. Vegetables and fillets will be soaked in sour cream, the cheese will harden with a golden crust, eggs will bind all the ingredients together. Pieces of fish are abundantly sprinkled with Italian herbs, and pollock acquires an unusual piquancy.

Despite the fact that the calendar spring begins in March, you can really feel the awakening of nature only with the appearance of flowering plants in the garden. Nothing testifies to the arrival of spring as eloquently as clearings of blooming primroses. Their appearance is always a small holiday, because winter has receded, and a new garden season awaits us ahead. But, besides spring primroses, there is still something to see and admire in the garden in the month of April.

Growing rapidly and turning into wild thickets, hogweed disrupts the existing ecosystem and suppresses all other plants. Essential oils contained in the fruits and leaves of hogweed cause severe forms dermatitis. At the same time, it is much more difficult to deal with it than with other common weeds. Fortunately, today a tool has appeared on the free market that can rid your site of most weeds in a short time, including cow parsnip.

Carrots come in a variety of colors: orange, white, yellow, purple. Orange carrots are dominated by beta-carotene and lycopene, the yellow color is due to the presence of xanthophylls (lutein); white carrots are high in fiber, while purple ones contain anthocyanin, beta and alpha carotenes. But, as a rule, gardeners choose varieties of carrots for sowing not by the color of the fruit, but by the timing of their ripening. We will talk about the best early, medium and late varieties in this article.

The long-awaited spring for many houseplants is the period of the start of active vegetation, and for the majority - the return of their decorative effect. Admiring the young leaves and emerging shoots, you should not forget that spring is also a big stress for all houseplants. Sensitive to changes in conditions and versatile, all indoor crops are faced with much brighter lighting, changes in air humidity and temperature conditions.

You can easily cook homemade Easter cake with cottage cheese and candied fruits, even without any confectionery experience behind you. You can bake Easter cake not only in a special form or in a paper mold. For the first culinary experiences (and not only), I advise you to take a small cast iron pan. Easter cake in a pan will not turn out as high as in a narrow form, but it never burns and always bakes well inside! Yeast curd dough is airy and fragrant.

We have selected five of the most popular plants that are given for Christmas and New Year. They have become a kind of symbol of these holidays, they can be given to both women and men. In the house, such flowers will decorate any interior, they are quite easy to care for, attract the attention of guests and cheer up and vitality of the owners.

These are champions in popularity that will be appropriate both at home and in the office. You just need to know some rules for caring for them, and believe me, they will fully thank you with freshness and beauty. So, our colorful "five".

poinsettia

This flower is called the "Christmas star" for its shape and brightness. Needless to say, it is at Christmas that poinsettia is most often presented as a gift. If you are lucky enough to receive it or want to accompany this gift with useful advice, please note: the poinsettia loves bright but diffused light, you do not need to put it on the windowsill close to the glass - delicate leaves can get sick from such a cold touch.

Many people believe that poinsettia is an annual plant. However, if, after the end of its flowering, you cut the plant to the main trunk and place it in a dark and cool place, only occasionally moistening the soil, then in a few months new shoots will appear, on which Christmas stars will bloom by the next New Year.

By the way, several plants of different colors can make a very picturesque composition that will decorate your holiday table or living room interior.

Cyclamen

These flowers have been in fashion for a long time, and many home plant lovers appreciate them for their delicate fragility and beauty.

The gift will turn out great: flowering lasts several months and will remind you of the wonderful New Year's mood for a very long time.

What could be a more appropriate gift for the New Year or Christmas than a coniferous plant in a pot? Yes, live Christmas trees, which are cut in large quantities and sold in December, do not lose their popularity among consumers, but many people regret, and sometimes only after a domestic scandal, throw away the crumbling spruce or pine tree at the end of the holidays.

A potted spruce or thuja can be transplanted in the spring to a house adjoining or summer cottage, where it will delight you for many years. And perhaps you will even have a desire not to buy a pine tree and bring it into the house for the next New Year, but to take or take your family out into the air, decorate a live spruce with colorful lights, toys, and arrange an unusual holiday with health benefits.

Having studied numerous decor options, we settled on the five most optimal, in our opinion. Making such a decor is easy, fast, all improvised items are available, and the process itself is creative, you can attract children to it, which in itself is very cool.

By the way, if you prefer to choose any other plant as a gift, except for those mentioned by us, be sure to decorate the pot or plant, and then even a small and modest cactus will take on a festive look and give a good mood.

1. Lace and knitted "clothes"

If you have “skillful hands” and you know how to hold knitting needles in them, there is nothing easier than knitting a simple fabric from any yarn and putting it on flower pot. The edges can be sewn with threads, matching them to the tone of the yarn, or made contrasting, you can glue the canvas to the surface of the pot. Buttons or beads, small cones or beads are suitable as an additional decor.

If you don’t know how to knit, look for remnants of lace at home or buy a meter and a half of lace ribbon in the store. Cut the tape into pieces and carefully glue it to the pot top, bottom or middle. You can pick up a lace ribbon with a thread and a needle, then such a “skirt” will give your gift a funny and homely look.

The color scheme of such “clothes” can be any, it all depends on your imagination and the interior in which your gift is to settle.

Don't have the time or inclination to mess around with decorating a flower pot, but the "straight from the store" option doesn't suit you? No problem. Are there ribbons? If there are no ribbons, you can buy them literally on the way to visit. The main thing is to tie them beautifully on a pot or on top of a transparent package. You can make a lush bow, build a voluminous knot or tie several small flower pots together with twine, and decorate with a ribbon on top and add a few spruce cones under it. The composition will turn out quite festive!

It is better to choose a bright ribbon, red will look perfect, reminiscent of the color of a bag with gifts from Santa Claus. You can choose green if, for example, you bought a poinsettia with a red leaf cap as a gift. The gold color of the ribbon will give any potted flower a touch of pomp, if you think it's appropriate. A white ribbon will symbolize snow, and a Christmas tree toy can be hung on the plant itself if you have chosen a coniferous gift.

3. Inscriptions and drawings

There are no limits to fantasy here if you have artistic talent, time and a sense of proportion. On the pot you can draw a New Year's landscape, a funny face, figures of Santa Claus or the Snow Maiden, birds, angels ... there are a lot of options! If you don’t know how to draw, find a template on the Internet, download it, cut it out, attach it to the pot and paint over the cut out places. You can even use watercolors, then just gently apply a clear varnish on top.

For minimalist artists, the idea is to write any suitable words on the pot: “Happy New Year”, “Happiness”, “Congratulations” and others. The main thing in this case is brevity. If you want even more minimalism, draw symbolic letters or initials of the owners of the house. You can form a word from the letters written on several flower pots by putting the pots in the right order. And there will be entertainment for guests on New Year's Eve! Let them guess what you meant by this or that letter ...

4. Fabric and burlap

Do you have a piece of fabric left after you sewed the covers on the sofa and chairs? Was your husband's new Scottish skirt too short? Roll of burlap lying around on the mezzanine? Don't throw away these treasures, they make wonderful flower pot cases.

It is enough to cut a piece of fabric to the size of the pot and sew its edges, or simply wrap it with a certain degree of negligence with coarse twine, twine, and jute rope. Cones are also very suitable for this decor, they can be stuck directly into the pot or attached to twine. Such a flower may well become part of the composition of the New Year's table, especially if it is combined with the color of napkins or additional accessories - candles, vases, small New Year's toys.

5. Environmental decorations

This option for decorating pots is doubly good: it is simple and goes well with the idea of plant decorations for the New Year's interior. You can use a lot to decorate a pot. For example, cut a dry branch into small round pieces with pruning shears and stick them on the surface of the pot. You can cut wooden skewers for barbecue into identical parts and lay out a pattern from these parts that comes to mind and fits on the walls of the flower container.

Birch bark, twine, designer cardboard are also perfect for decorating such a gift. Well, on top you can add a beautiful ribbon, a couple of cones, a lace decoration - in a word, everything that we have listed in the previous versions. The ecological decor is good because everything suits it.

On a note!

  1. When choosing a potted plant as a gift, think in advance if your friends love the flowers to whom you want to give it. If they prefer brightness in everything, they will like poinsettia. For lovers of rigor and minimalism, it is more appropriate to buy spruce or thuja.
  2. When decorating a flower pot, take into account the presence in the house where the plant, animals or small children will live. A fluffy bow can attract a cat who wants to play with it at the most inopportune moment and in a very inappropriate place. And loosely glued buttons can fall into the hands of the baby, who will definitely pull them into his mouth.
  3. Many cats love to play with Christmas tree rain and even chew it. If you decide that without such a rain, the decor will not work, tie it tightly around the pot or glue it so that the “tails” that are tempting for the cat do not stick out. By the way, simply by grabbing such a tip with its claws and pulling it, the animal can send your gift to the floor and turn the holiday into grief and grandiose cleaning.
  4. And find out in advance if your friends are allergic to flowering plants! Any surprise is good because it needs to be thought out in advance and carefully prepared.
  5. When buying a plant in a store, inspect it very carefully so as not to choose a diseased specimen. It will be very disappointing if, after a couple of weeks, only a beautifully decorated pot will remain as a keepsake for your friends, and the flower itself will “order to live long”.
  6. A great option for effortless decor is to put the purchased flower in a wicker basket. You can tie a bow on her handle, and the solemnity of the moment will be observed.
