  • Clean bottles of labels, dry them well.

  • Fix the bottle in the cutter, place the glass cutter at the level you want to leave, wear protective clothing. Gently rotate the bottle for a smoother cut line.

Master class number 2: Decorate a lamp from a bottle

A lamp made of a glass bottle will harmoniously fit on a cozy balcony, without interfering with admiring the sleeping city.

To make a lamp from a bottle, we need:

  • Empty glass bottle;
  • glass cutter;
  • Propane torch with thin tip;
  • Plastic safety goggles;
  • Sandpaper / sanding block;
  • Protective gloves, mask;
  • Liquid glue for decoration;
  • Glass stones for decoration;
  • A small lamp on a long wire with a switch;
  • Wooden chop;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Short wire / rope.
  1. Let's take a bottle, clean it from the labels. It is best to practice on a couple of others before cutting the desired bottle, as cutting glass is quite difficult.
  2. Carefully cut with a glass cutter around the circumference of the cut line; take your time - if the lines do not close, you will not be able to cut the bottle evenly.
  3. Next, we take the burner, best of all - if you fix the bottle on something slowly rotating, but you can just fasten it tightly. Carefully start heating the cut, do not forget to slowly rotate the bottle if you just have it fixed. After a while, the cut line will split.

There is an easier way to cut a bottle: we also draw a line around the circumference with a glass cutter, put the bottle in a container with cold water, so that the cut line is covered. Next, pour a little boiling water into the bottle - the bottle will crack along the cut. If not, repeat with a new bottle.

The cut line turned out to be sharp and uneven - we will sand it with sandpaper. As a precaution, wear goggles, a mask and protective gloves.

Put a drop of glue on the edge of the bottle.

We put a glass stone on a drop of glue and press it for a while so that it is fixed on the bottle.

Try to glue the stones in a circle, under the very neck.

After sealing the entire bottle, leave it to dry for a day.

Let's take a lamp. You can take more powerful lamps to make the light more powerful.

Look at how your lamp is arranged so as not to harm the wiring. We carefully disassemble the lamp, carefully remove the wire.

We pass the cord through the bottle, assemble the lamp back, check if it works. We adjust the wooden chopstick to the size of the neck of the bottle, so that it does not put much pressure on the wire and paint it white.

We insert the chopik into the neck, pressing down the wire with it to secure our lamp.

In order to have something to hang our lamp from a bottle for, we take the lamp cord and fold it, forming a loop. We tightly tie the resulting loop with wire or rope. We glue the glass stones on the neck of the bottle and leave to dry for 2 days.

Here are our bottle lamps that will fit perfectly both in the country house and on the balcony!

Master class number 3: Table lamp from a bottle

  • Shade;
  • Protective gloves, goggles and mask;
  • Unnecessary towel;
  • Screwdriver.

The process of making a lamp

  1. We outline from below bottle hole for wiring. We glue the plaster on this place, put on protective clothing.
  2. How to drill a hole for the cord: put the bottle in a towel, and start drilling a hole with a diamond drill. Drilling can take up to half an hour.
  3. Peel off the patch and labels by soaking the bottle in hot water.
  4. Using a screwdriver, carefully disassemble the lamp, trying not to damage anything.

Create for the soul to rejoice and the body to rest.

In order to decorate your room in an interesting way, it is not necessary to spend a lot of money. If you like glass chandeliers, then you can make one yourself from an ordinary bottle. You can learn about what options for bottle lamps exist and how to design them yourself from this article.

Peculiarities

Homemade lamps have many advantages over purchased ones.

  • Firstly By creating a decorative lamp, you harm nature less by reusing items that could be thrown away.
  • Secondly, making a lamp out of plastic or glass bottles is much easier than it seems.

Even if you have never done needlework, then following simple instructions you can make an interesting and unusual ceiling.

  • Another plus of such lamps is that you can make them the way you yourself want to see them. Use your imagination and designers' advice, and you can get a really unusual decorative element for any of your rooms.
  • Lamps made of glass or plastic will be a real decoration of any room.

What are there?

Beautiful lamps can be made from both plastic and glass bottles. In addition, you can create the most different variants chandeliers Let's look at what you can do with your own hands from ordinary bottles.

Desktop

The easiest option that you can make a reality if you have an empty bottle is a table lamp. A simple solution is a wine bottle lamp. Choose an unusually shaped vessel or one left over from expensive alcohol so that it gives you more pleasant sensations and looks more spectacular.

Lighting features completely depend on the color of the glass from which the bottle is made. This is very good, because the room can create a more mysterious and cozy atmosphere. Most often, the glass of the bottles is dark green or transparent. If the bottle is transparent, then it can be additionally painted or decorated with other interesting details.

A lamp made from a simple bottle will perfectly fit into a romantic or New Year's atmosphere. It will add a special zest to the room.

To do this, simply decorate the lamp with an interesting colored garland. Now light monochromatic lamps are popular, but you can also choose the classic color version.

It is also worth remembering that the type of lighting depends on the choice of light bulbs. To get in the room warm light choose yellow bulbs. And in a dark blue bottle with white bulbs, you can create a source of cold light.

Garlands can either simply be fixed on the surface of the bottle, or they can be placed inside in several ways. It will be most beautiful if you drill the bottom and draw a garland inside the bottle, bringing the edges out. So you get a fairly neat and beautiful lamp.

Experts advise to be as careful as possible when working with glass. To prevent the bottle from cracking, the bottom must be covered with masking tape, so it can be safely drilled with a drill at medium speed.

When you get a large enough opening to output the wiring, the tape can be removed.

For information on how to perfectly drill a bottle and make a beautiful New Year's lamp, see the next video.

If desired, you can also decorate the walls of the bottle. For this purpose, you need to use special stained glass paints that adhere well to the surface of the glass. If you have a well-developed imagination, you can try to create a picture yourself. Well, if there are no ideas, then it is worth repeating a ready-made idea or using a stencil. Another tricky way is to depict abstraction on the walls, which almost every beginner in the art world can handle.

However, even without additional decor, this original lamp already looks unusual and interesting. Table lamps from bottles are installed vertically, so that the neck looks up.

Often a candle is also placed inside the bottle. In this case, the improvised lamp turns out to be very romantic and spectacular. It can be safely installed in the bedroom. True, we must not forget about safety.

Suspended

The best option is to use a frame from an old chandelier to create your new design creation.

In this case, it will be enough just to fix empty bottles as classic shades. The bottom of each bottle will need to be cut off before use.

You can also make a lamp out of plastic bottles. This is a much cheaper option. In addition, such structures are very light and easy to mount. Plastic transmits light well, so the room will always be light. A cheap lamp from a bottle is suitable option for a summer residence or a street where you don’t want to mount anything particularly refined.

The easiest way is to simply cut a plastic bottle so that it looks like a ceiling lamp. The edges should be as accurate as possible. The surface of a plastic bottle can be coated with paint or painted with subtle patterns.

There is another interesting option- decorate a plastic bottle with plastic spoons. Having cut off the handles, the base of the spoons must be attached to the plastic with hot glue. Each of the following layers should slightly overlap the previous one. It turns out interesting design that will definitely draw attention to itself.

You can also try decorate the surface of the bottle with designs in the form of small flowers created from the same plastic spoons. In this case, they will serve as petals.

LED

If you are looking for a good option lamp for the street, then you can make an LED flashlight yourself. Its main advantage is that it runs on solar batteries and charges itself. You will not need to worry about the condition of the wiring, because there will be none at all.

wall

Making sconces from glasses or bottles is a rather difficult task. It is best if you already have a ready-made frame, which can be supplemented with a new ceiling lamp from the simplest bottle. An original wall lamp of this type will be good for the bedroom, especially if you take a bottle of classic greenish glass.

Where to use?

Like simple glass lamps, handmade bottles can be placed in almost any interior. It will look stylish and quite organic.

A glass lamp made from a bottle will be the perfect addition to your bathroom. It will reliably protect the light source from high humidity and decorate the room.

  • Organically, such a hand-made product will look in the kitchen. The glass surface of the chandelier goes well with household appliances and other details kitchen interior. You can add a glass bottle with forged elements.

  • On the street, a similar lighting option is also very beneficial. It protects from rain and snow. In addition, unlike purchased glass products, such a lamp will not burn out in the sun and will always remain the same as in the early days of its existence. Professionals advise not to paint the product. But if you want to use paint, then choose a quality one that will not fade in the sun longer.

  • Living areas such as bedrooms and living rooms lamps are used mostly as a decorative element. Decorate the bottle in original ways or leave it clean to make it look good in a minimalist room.

  • As a beautiful night light you can also use a lamp made of dense dark glass. Inside the lamp, you can place colored lights and a candle. The lamp itself can be placed both on shelves and on tables or bedside tables. Such decoration will look good in any corner of the room.

D good day, friends!

Today, I decided to make a lamp out of a bottle, to be precise, a night lamp. This experience is completely new for me. I planned to make a lamp for a long time, but all hands didn’t reach it. In principle, as it turned out, nothing complicated. But I had to be patient, because. always had to wait. At almost every stage of work, the paint dried, then the glue dried. The waiting time stretched from several hours to several days. But otherwise, making a lamp turned out to be an interesting and exciting activity.

I called this work "Oasis" - desert, sand, a lizard, a couple of lovers and eyes ...

Usually they say that the eyes are the sea.
But you don't have something burning in your eyes,
Perhaps I will meet grief today,
In your sands, so intoxicating from the soul ...

The pupil fits the desert
No storms, no wind, quiet, sweet...
Your face is sacred to me
Well, what is in it, I was so amazed ...?

Beautiful poems by Anastasia Borzova, and then, my prose

...... and again, in order not to burden the master class, I had to divide it into two parts:

  1. How to make a lamp;

Today will be:

How to make a lamp out of a bottle

For work, I needed:

  1. Glass bottle;
  2. Piece of chipboard;
  3. Light;
  4. Cord with plug and switch;
  5. Sand;
  6. Shells;
  7. Photo;
  8. Toilet paper;
  9. Acrylic paints - gold and brown;
  10. PVA glue;
  11. Acrylic lacquer;

For the basis of the lamp, I took a glass bottle of wine.

Glass bottle

At first, I had an idea to make a lamp - “Genie in a lamp”. The composition, I saw this: the sea threw a bottle on the sand, a genie is visible through the glass.

I rummaged through the entire Internet, looking for a picture of a genie that I would like. But, alas! Nothing looked good. But, there was a picture that, well, right away, fell on the soul. I printed this picture on ordinary photo paper and cut out a square with rounded edges.

Picture

And I glued this picture to the bottle, according to the principle of reverse decoupage.

I put this picture in a cup of warm water for 10 minutes. Then I took out the picture, put it on the desktop, picture down. And while the paper was wet, with his fingers, he rolled up a layer of white paper.

Removed the top layer

After I rolled up the extra layers of paper, I walked along the front side of the picture with a brush dipped in acrylic varnish. When applying acrylic varnish, small bubbles may form, traces of which will then be visible. Therefore, I tried to eliminate such bubbles immediately.

Then, I attached the picture to the bottle, face to the glass. I moistened my fingers in water and again began to roll up the paper, thereby thinning the layer. The edges of the picture, I deliberately made uneven, torn. I did this so that in the future, the edges of the picture were not clearly defined.

Attached a picture to the bottle.

When, as far as possible, I thinned the layer, I took a wet napkin and gently wiped everything. Removed paper pellets and traces of varnish on glass. I left the painting to dry.

Then, with brown acrylic paint, I began to tint the bottle. She did it this way: she applied paint to a simple kitchen sponge, blotted the sponge first on paper, and then “poked” the bottle with the sponge. I started with a picture and then all over the bottle.

I tint the picture

I tint the bottle

Toned in several layers. One layer dries, apply the next.

One moment! From tinting with a sponge, small bubbles of paint also form. To remove them, I simply walked over them, with a part of the sponge, where there is little or no paint.

And of course, on the side opposite the picture, I left the window unpainted, in which my picture will be visible.

Looking ahead, I want to criticize myself. I needed to make the picture bigger. Because when you look straight ahead, the transition between the picture and the paint is not very visible. But if you look into the bottle from the side, this transition is very visible, and this is a marriage. It's sad... But I'll be smarter for the future.

Later, in order to improve a little, I narrowed the window a little. But completely, she did not fix her marriage.

Not tinted, bottle section

With a bottle, that's all.

To make a lamp in a horizontal plane, I needed a base. For the base, I took a rectangular piece of chipboard. I asked my husband to cut out an even rectangle and sand the edges. Over the entire surface, walked with a hard sandpaper.

Chipboard base

Weight of papier-mache

Now, I needed a mass in which I could drown the bottle and which I could cover with sand. Googling, I settled on papier-mâché, the recipe of which I liked most of all for its simplicity. I found him in the master class of Olga Egupets, a wonderful puppet master. You can watch the video of this recipe on Youtube channel, here is the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hoe1Dx3OrJk&list=PL7C00C05B3ED17917&index=11

  1. snatched toilet paper;
  2. filled with water (only to wet the paper);
  3. squeezed out excess water;
  4. in the resulting, soaked and squeezed, mass of paper, added PVA glue and mixed well.

I make papier-mâché

In the end, it turned out, here is such a mass.

Weight for papier-mâché

Before applying the mass, I generously smeared the chipboard with PVA glue so that the papier-mâché would stick well to the chipboard. She gave a little glue to grab the chipboard and began to lay out papier-mâché, imitating a small mound. In the middle, pressed the bottle. But, in order not to stain the bottle, I thoroughly wrapped it with cling film.

Posted papier-mâché

And now, it remains to wait for the papier-mâché to dry. It dries for a long time, a week for sure.

When the mass dried up a little (after about a day), I pulled out the bottle so that the place on which the bottle lies would dry faster. But this, again, was my mistake (((. So, as I did, I did not take into account that the mass of papier-mâché would dry out. The bottle no longer fit in length. This can be seen in the photo below.

The mass, when dried, shrunk

I had to fix the marriage, and at the same time increased the mound.

First, I cut off the excess with a knife, near the neck of the bottle. Then, she again kneaded the mass of papier-mâché and laid it out along the bottle, raising the “sides around the bottle. And in the region of the neck, I made a groove in which, in the future, the cord will lie.

Again laid out a mass of papier-mâché

And again, I began to wait for the mass to dry. True, I waited a little less, it took 5 days to dry. But, taught by bitter experience, she left the bottle in the mass. Only, periodically, she moved it, lifted it.

sand decoration

When, finally, the mass dried up, she began to decorate it with sand.

Sand, did not buy. Slightly "robbed" the children's sandbox. Forgive me, children.))))))) I poured the sand into a deep cup and carefully washed it under running water. Mud, I'll tell you, it was!!! Here it is time to think about whether our children should be allowed to play in local, public sandboxes.

After the sand was washed, I put it on a baking sheet and put it in the oven, for drying and roasting. And after drying and roasting, she sifted it through a sieve. I needed to separate small grains of sand from large ones.

Then I started decorating with sand. Diluted PVA glue with acrylic varnish, approximately in proportions of 1/1. I already used this composition when I made , so I was confident in this composition.

Then, she generously lubricated the surface with this composition and sprinkled the surface with sand, pressing it down with her fingers. Pressing down the sand with my fingers, I drowned it in glue and at the same time leveled it to avoid bumps. Left to dry. Here we had to wait about 8-10 hours.

Then, I painted over the sand with gold acrylic paint. I used a wide brush. The brush did not soak in water, dipped it only in paint, shaded it on paper and passed over the surface of the sand. I let it dry again, it dried relatively quickly))).

So, I did two layers.

The first two layers are fine sand.

In the photo above, you can see that the bottle does not fit snugly to the base. And I wanted her to be buried in the sand. So I sealed the gaps. To do this, I cut a simple napkin into thin strips and glue + PVA composition, closed the cracks (the principle is the same as the insulation of wooden window frames for the winter).

I close the resulting gaps

I did not wait for the strips to dry, I began to decorate them with sand, just like the base. Glued sand, after drying, painted with gold paint. And so three layers.

Decorated with sand

Fine sand seemed boring to me, so I added a layer of coarse sand. It worked the same way as with fine sand.

I decorate with coarse sand

In forced periods of waiting, when the sand was drying, I made a lizard. About her, there will be the next master class.

To make a lamp, I, of course, needed a light bulb and a cord with a plug. I bought led light bulb(it practically does not heat up) and a ready-made cord, with a plug and an on / off button. I measured the length of the cord I needed, from the switch to the place where the light bulb would be. And she asked her husband to solder the light bulb to the wire.

Light bulb with cord

Using a hot glue gun, I glued the switch, ran the cord in a hollow, under the neck. And she stuck a light bulb down her neck.

I glued the lizard. How I made the lizard, you can see

Everything was almost ready. But I wanted to dilute this brown-gold scale with white pebbles and shells. I glued shells and large pebbles with a thermal gun. And small ones, glued on PVA + acrylic varnish.

Here, now, really everything, the work is ready. So, I managed to make a lamp out of a bottle. By the way, when I connected the light bulb, it became clear that not all places on the bottle were completely stained. I wanted to fix it, but my husband stopped me in time, said that it was even more interesting. And I agreed with him.

Lamp, from a bottle

Lamp, from a bottle

And yet, a little about what can be done with bottles:

  • You can, for example, take an unopened bottle of alcohol, decorate it with leather and give it to a man. For example, on February 23 or a corporate holiday. I have such a job, MK can be viewed. By the way, this decor is removable. It can be used in the future, for bottles of similar volumes.
  • Or do not throw away the bottles from under your favorite sauce, but decorate them using the Decoupage and Paper Art technique. And use these cute bottles for spices. MK of this decor, you can see

Friends, if my master class was useful to you, share it with your friends!

You can make such an unusual and simply beautiful chandelier with your own hands using multi-colored plastic bottles! We offer you a master class ...

We will need:

- plastic bottles different colors at your discretion
- scissors,
- soldering iron for processing leaves,
- thin wire for twisting twigs,
- steel wire for the frame

We cut the eggplants into pieces - the size depends on the leaves you have conceived. Then we give each piece the shape of a leaf, only your imagination is needed here ... I did something in the likeness of birch leaves.

We turn on the soldering iron. It is better to take a soldering iron with a thick tip (so there are more chances to hit the cut of the leaf, and not the fingers))), with a one-sided bevel ...

We melt the slices, so the leaves look more impressive, especially in the light of a light bulb. We also draw veins on the leaves with the edge of the sting, but carefully - they quickly melt through)))

Since the eggplants themselves are cylindrical, the leaves are not flat. The trick is that from heating with a soldering iron they warp in an unknown direction, so they look very good in the end)))

Now you need to melt with a hot needle in each leaf a couple of holes for wires. One hole is not enough, because the leaf will dangle as it pleases, under the influence of the force of gravity, but we still need the leaves to stick out the way we want)

We take a thin wire for twigs (I have a copper one, from a Soviet stabilizer))) cut into pieces 15-20 cm long. We take a leaf and thread a wire into it from hole to hole with a figure eight) ... near the leaf we twist the ends of the wires by 10-15 mm. On one of the ends we string the next leaf, starting from the extreme hole, and so on - we string, twist ...

Well, how to form the branch itself, everyone scatters it with their brains, depending on what you want ... leave the ends of the wires at least 2 cm. Take the next wire, fold in half, hook on the last leaf and twist together with the tail from the previous wire, 2 centimeters -3 ... The branch becomes thicker, already in 4 wires ...) then form the branches at your discretion, naturally, the leaves should be alternated in size and color ...

Now we need to figure out the shape of the frame ...

For me personally, this turned out to be the most difficult ... I made it in the form of a sphere ... we must also take into account the fact that in this design there will also be a light bulb, the chandelier is still ... I made a frame just with a hole on top so that the cartridge crawled through.

For the frame, I took 5 pieces of steel wire 60-70 cm each. I bent them C-shaped and inserted them into the eggplant ring, leaving a 5-angle hole in the center - it turned out 10 branches ...

Well, now it’s necessary to wind the invented branches onto this structure ... It’s better to start from the bottom, and then we apply it according to the principle of tiles.

The frame had to be hung on a rope for the convenience of work - in the supine position, it seemed to me, it is simply impossible to assemble ...

The next important step is the method of attaching this creation to the ceiling. I didn’t bother, I hung it on a piece of steel wire and masked the electric wire and suspension with the same leaves ...

It looks, of course, very good even with the lamp on in the evening)))

Decorating a home is a complex and responsible task that you can handle on your own. The peculiarity lies in the fact that some interior items can be created with my own hands. So, lamps are integral interior items that are used to illuminate the room as a whole or a separate area. The store offers a wide range of such products. But there are master classes on how to make a lamp with your own hands from a bottle. And now we will show them to you! :)
