  10. Unused wires are shortened or twisted into a bay. The ends are securely insulated.
  11. The head unit is not adapted to switching currents of more than 3 A. If it is necessary to control powerful consumers, unloading relays are installed.
  12. Installing a SIM card is only allowed on a disabled system.
  13. The headunit needs to be configured prior to installation for the digital bus to work properly. Setting means choosing a car model through the menu.
  1. Install the head unit near the center console or instrument panel. The device is placed with the connector down, rigidly fixed to the steel body panel or to parts directly attached to the body. The installation site must not shield the transceiver antennas GSM module and a base 2.4 GHz transmitter. If you cannot find a place that meets these requirements, it is recommended to connect an external GSM antenna.
  2. Install radio relay RR102 with an additional accelerometer. The device is attached to the body or wiring harnesses anywhere in the car interior or in the engine compartment. The manufacturer prohibits the installation of relays inside the harnesses. Two black wires are mounted in the break of the blocked circuit. Permissible current switching - up to 10 A. An additional cable is used when programming the relay into memory (by connecting to the positive output of the on-board network). The two remaining wires serve as power for the relay. A positive pulse is given in a constant mode or when the ignition is on.
  3. The receiver of cellular and satellite communications signals must be placed under the instrument panel with the antenna up. The unit is connected via two wires that provide power.
  4. When using immobilizer crawler relay modules, remember that the total switched current should not exceed 40 A.

On the head unit there are connectors that have the following purposes:

  1. Block X1 is designed to install a microphone. A harness with two contacts is used for connection.
  2. Connector X2 is a digital output, used to connect the relay modules of the immobilizer crawler. The connector has four pins.
  3. An additional GSM antenna is connected to X3. The operating parameters are configured through the program. The connector has a round shape for connecting a coaxial cable.
  4. Connector X4 is a mini-USB port used for programming settings.
  5. The RF transceiver module is connected to block X5. The connector has five pins.
  6. Connector X6 is used to connect temperature sensors. The circuit allows the installation of additional three-contact sensors such as Dallas Semiconductor DS 18B20. A harness with two wires is used for connection.
  7. A status indicator and a setting button are connected to connector X7. On the body of the head unit there is an additional setting key. Two pin connector.
  8. When using an additional sensor, it is connected to block X8. To connect, use a harness with a four-pin connector.
  9. The main block 14-pin X9 is used for switching wires from the central lock, limit switches, fuel level sensor, etc.
  10. Block X10 is designed to connect the system to the digital bus, as well as to ensure the operation of the siren. The block is connected by a wiring harness with 10 pins.

The owner must carefully study the operating instructions, only then the Pandora 5000 security complex will work properly and fully perform the functions assigned to it.

System Programming

Before starting operation, it is necessary to configure the operation parameters using a computer connected to the Internet. For connection, a cable or a wireless adapter (proprietary RMP-3 programmer) with a range of 10 meters can be used. The configuration is carried out through the interface of the special software Pandora AlarmStudio, which is in the public domain. The program requires the registration of the owner. The headunit can be configured when removed, but in this case it is necessary to provide power.

Brief instructions for enabling wireless programming:

  1. Disarm and connect the programmer to the mini-USB port.
  2. Press and hold the second and third buttons on the end of the key fob. Hold the keys until three short beeps are given by the buzzer.
  3. Enter the first programming level by pressing the service button ten times. The connection will occur automatically within two minutes.

Pandora 5000 systems allow you to control using commands transmitted over a cellular network. The user number is entered into the memory of the head unit, which eliminates the possibility of interception of control by an intruder. The number can be programmed from the owner's mobile phone or by connecting a computer.

Phone programming requires:

  1. Disarm and dial the number of the SIM card installed in the unit. After connection, it is necessary to press and hold for three seconds the disarming button installed on the head key fob. An alternative method is possible - after the connection, the ignition is turned on for 2-3 seconds, then it turns off.
  2. To change the number, you need to enter the command 1*, which turns on the setup mode. Then the command is entered again, which switches the menu to the number selection item.
  3. Enter a new number in the form * 79хххххххх #. For confirmation, send command *1.

Designation of buttons, icons and diodes on the key fob

To control the functions of the Pandora 5000, five buttons on the head console are used. Further, the symbols of the keys - K1-K5 will be used.

Explanation and description of the icons on the display:

  1. No communication with head unit. Works in flashing mode.
  2. Turns on when a coded command is sent.
  3. Indication of the presence of a GSM cellular network signal. The icon is lit in a constant mode when the connection is stable, if the signal is lost, it switches to a flashing mode.
  4. The operation of the receiver of signals from GPS satellites. The icon lights up when determining the coordinates of the vehicle. If positioning is not possible, the indicator blinks.
  5. Additional immobilizer included.
  6. State of the system. When security is on, the icon depicts a locked padlock; when disarmed, it shows a padlock with the shackle turned to the side.
  7. Free hands. The badge consists of two halves. If the left part is active, then the car alarm activation mode works in case of moving away from the vehicle. When the right section is active, the disarming mode is enabled when the owner approaches the car.
  8. Door security area. A feature of the system is the individual display of the status of each door.
  9. A four-digit digital field designed to display the current time, voltage in the on-board network, temperature.
  10. Trunk guard zone.
  11. Signaling by external light signaling. The icon flashes in accordance with the emergency lamps or dimensions.
  12. The activity of the automatic start mode of the power unit.
  13. The work of a regular pre-heater (Webasto, etc.).
  14. Indication of the temperature measurement scale in degrees Celsius. Turns on when the current temperature value is displayed, autostart or auxiliary heater settings are displayed.
  15. The battery charge status icon consists of three sections.

  19. Indication of the state of the additional sensor. The indicator works in four modes. The activation of the warning sensitivity zone turns on the inner square. The outer square is activated when the alarm sensitivity zone is triggered. When the warning zone is turned off, the inner square is lit, crossed out by two lines. Full display of the icon indicates sensor deactivation.
  20. Operation mode icon. It consists of two sections - a siren and two crossed lines. Silence of warning signals is indicated by the active indicator of the siren.
  21. Ignition zone control.

  23. Brake pedal guard. Used to indicate the installed software neutral.
  24. Security zone according to data from the tilt sensor.
  25. The shock sensor icon consists of four segments. Signaling from the sensor's warning zone turns on the hammer and low impact indicator. The main sensitivity zone includes a hammer icon and a strong impact indication. When the warning zone is deactivated, an additional icon is activated, which is two crossed lines. Turning off the sensor completely turns on all four segments of the icon.
  26. Automatic arming or re-arming.
  27. An indicator field consisting of ten segments. The field displays the remaining time until the function is disabled, the fuel level in the tank, the sensitivity level of the sensors, etc. The indicator works in conjunction with other icons, expanding the customization options.

Keychain setting

The key fob supplied with the Pandora 5000 alarm system is fully prepared for operation. The user only needs to turn it on by pressing and holding the F button located on the end part for three seconds. Deactivation is performed in the same way.

The keyfob is written to memory as follows:

  1. With the ignition and security turned off, enter the programming password. The entry is made by the service button. After recognizing the password, the alarm enters the programming mode. The control diode flashes green and red.
  2. To enter the remote control recording submenu, press the service button once. A notification message will be sent to your phone.
  3. To memorize a communicator with a display, you need to hold down three buttons located on the end part. The key fob must be pre-enabled. After the first vibration signal is given, the buttons should be released. Upon successful entry of the remote control into the memory, a single short beep is given by the siren. Recording key fobs without a display is performed in the same way. The buttons are held pressed until the siren sounds.
  4. Confirm the entry by briefly pressing the service button once.
  5. Turn on the ignition to complete the key fob firmware procedure.
  6. Conduct a health check. When the ignition is turned on, the control diode emits a series of flashes orange color. The number of flashes corresponds to the number of Pandora 5000 alarm control devices memorized.

To check the number of key fobs stored in memory, two methods are used:

  • by the number of flashes of orange (key fobs) and green (tags) color, which are given by the indicator diode with each activation of the ignition;
  • the number of remotes and tags are reported by a series of sounds that are given when the power wire is disconnected and reinstalled on the battery terminal.

Errors when recording key fobs

When recording key fobs, a common mistake is to keep the buttons pressed for a long time (until the second vibration signal). In this case, the remote control is not registered in the memory, a triple signal is turned on by a buzzer, then a melody is played. No less common is the error associated with an attempt to register key fobs from different generations of the security complex, in which case the recording will fail.

Arming and disarming

The system is switched on by pressing K1 with the ignition deactivated and the doors closed. At the moment of switching on, the signaling central processor polls the security zones for errors, locks the locks and turns on the blocking of the engine start and operation circuits. After that, a single sound (short signal) and light indication is given. A melody will be played on the key fob and the corresponding icon will turn on. If you want to make a silent arming, then K1 is held down for more than one second. To activate the protection using SMS, a command of the form 1* is given (for normal mode) or 10* (for quiet).

If an open limit switch is detected during the control bypass of the zones, the system perceives this as an open element of the body. In this case, the car gives a four-fold indication, and an additional “attention” melody is played on the key fob. The icon on the display will indicate the disabled zone. If the zone is restored to working capacity (for example, the door is completely closed), then it will automatically be armed after 15 seconds.

Disarming is performed by pressing K2 (for disarming with sound) or by pressing and holding the same key for more than one second (for silent disarming). There is a double test of the light and sound systems on the car, the key fob plays the corresponding melody and the icon lights up on the screen open lock. Two-stage unlocking possible door locks, at which the first press of K2 will open only the driver's door, and the second - unlocks the rest of the locks. Disabling via SMS is performed by issuing commands like 0* or 00* (with and without sound, respectively).

It is possible to control the operation of the locks when the engine is running. Locking and unlocking is performed by pressing K1 and K2 respectively. It is possible to set up the system, according to which the locks will automatically close after the start of movement and automatically unlock when the ignition is turned off. The function has a limitation - if after the activation of the ignition a signal was received from the door limit switch (to open), then automatic blocking will not occur. This restriction was introduced for security reasons - to prevent locking the keys and fob in the cabin.

The trunk lock is unlocked separately from other locks in any state of the security system. Opening is done by pressing and holding K3 for one second. During active protection, along with unlocking the lock, a temporary deactivation of the shock sensor, as well as an additional sensor, occurs. The protection of other zones remains unchanged. If within 15 seconds after switching off the limit switch on the cover does not open, the system returns to its original state. The sensors are connected, the light alarm gives a single flash.

Detection of the car in the parking lot is carried out by a command transmitted by pressing K1 when the protection is on. The car reacts with a five-time flash of emergency lamps and short beeps of a siren (five times). For a "silent" search, the K1 button is held down for more than one second, in this case only a light indication is given.

Programmable auto-arm option

The service is used when leaving the car with full hands. The mode is activated by holding K1 and K3 until the “Auto” text icon is turned on. In this case, the status diode switches to the continuous operation mode in red. 30 seconds after closing the last tailgate, the automatic switch on protection. The alarm system allows you to view the current state of the car on the screen, for this, the K4 button is used. After pressing, the temperature value in the passenger compartment, the engine compartment and the voltage of the on-board network are displayed alternately. The display is deactivated by pressing K3. The 5000 Pro system displays data from all sensors simultaneously. Disabling is done in the same way.

Holding down K4 for one second turns on the Event Viewer. Switching the list is done by pressing K2 or K1. When an event is indicated, the time of the incident and the affected defense zones are displayed (by flashing the corresponding icons). Using the phone, it is possible to get an extended history of events, for this you need to enter the command 09 *.

Remote engine start

Starting the engine at a distance is done to warm up or cool down the interior and charge the battery. Autorun operation is possible only in active security mode. The start is made when the automatic gearbox selector is set to the parking position (information comes from the corresponding sensor) or when the manual transmission lever is in the neutral position.

Neutral programming:

  1. With the engine running, raise the lever hand brake up. Switch box to neutral position.
  2. Press and hold K1 for three seconds to activate neutral.
  3. Turn the key in the lock to the off position and remove it. The engine must continue to work due to the active ignition support system.
  4. Get out of the car and close all doors.
  5. Press K2 to turn on the protection. The running engine icon will be active on the screen and the guard indicator will be on. The motor will stop - the system is ready for automatic or remote start.

Start or stop by telephone is performed by commands 123* and 321* respectively. If the motor is started on a timer or in repetitive mode, then issuing command 123* allows you to extend the run time by 10 minutes.

Maintenance mode

The Pandora 5000 security complex has a special mode that allows you to turn off the system when a car arrives at the station Maintenance. In this mode, it is not required to transfer the key fob to car service employees.

Switching on the maintenance mode:

  1. Use the K3 button to select the service icon.
  2. Activate the icon by pressing K1. With the ignition on, the status indicator should be solid green.
  3. After maintenance, turn off the mode. To do this, select the icon and press K2.

When the battery level icon changes to flashing mode, the battery needs to be replaced. On undervoltage indicates the automatic transition of the remote control to the charge saving mode, in which the melodies are replaced by single short sounds. The arrival of alarm signals is accompanied by a loud melodious sound, but the vibration does not turn on. When the battery is completely discharged, the vibration detector is activated in a constant mode.

Replacement Guide:

  1. Take the remote control in your hand, turn it upside down. Move the plastic locking element to the side.
  2. Carefully slide the cover along the guides in the direction opposite to the antenna.
  3. Take out the old element and install the new one. Be sure to observe polarity during installation. The manufacturer recommends using only 1.5 V AAA batteries in the key fob.
  4. Replace the cover, close the valve.

System emergency shutdown

If you have problems with shutdown, you can use the emergency deactivation mode:

  1. Call the number of the security complex, after connecting, send a command of the form 0. It is possible to turn off the system from any other mobile phone, but only after entering the code number (1234 is set by default).
  2. If you want to turn off the immobilizer, then the command has the form 998*. In this case, it is required to enter the emergency code recorded on the plastic card from the delivery set.

If there is no mobile phone at hand, there is another method to turn it off:

  1. Open the lock by activating the alarm mode.
  2. Enter the first number with the service button. Wait for confirmation by flashing the diode (red).
  3. Enter the rest of the numbers one by one. The input of each must be confirmed by a diode flash.
  4. Alternating flashes of the diode (red and green) will confirm the correctness of the code. If an error occurs, a long red signal will sound. Re-entry can be started no earlier than five seconds after the end of the flash.
