What does the law say?

To understand this controversial issue, it is necessary to refer to the Civil Code. It is clearly stated here that the owner of the housing (whether it is a privatized apartment or an apartment located in a housing cooperative, as well as a private house) must fully follow the correct operation electrical networks, which includes an electric meter, be responsible for malfunctions, carry out maintenance, and so on. It turns out that the electricity meter is part of the property of the owner of the apartment.

In addition, no special structural requirements or special precautions are required for the operation of the electric heater. However, if the devices are designed for large spaces, it may be that at least the costs explode. The associated loud sound comes with the following utility.

If you want to achieve a pleasant climate in all rooms with an electric heater, it is important to know the required heating of the connection of the respective radiator. To heat a room volume of one cubic meter, it must be calculated from 40 to 50 watts. Therefore, this room requires between 000 and 500 watts of power. The higher the performance, the higher the cost: 000 watt radiators are commercially available at prices ranging from 200 to 600 euros.

What is the current cost of heating with electricity?

So the management company must carry out the installation itself at its own expense. This means that the installation of meters in such apartments is not the business of those who live in them. Of course, the consumer pays for electricity.

In an older building with rather poor insulation, costs have risen to a remarkable 840 euros per year under the same conditions. Compared to other types of heating, the costs are much higher because electric heaters use electricity as fuel.

What maintenance costs can I expect for an electric heater?

They indicate the date of the verification. On one side are Arabic numerals - this is the year of verification, on the reverse side are filled with Roman numerals - this is the quarter.

Attention! These figures are very important, because certain periods of state verification have been established. For single-phase meters it is two years, for three-phase one year. If the device you bought is already expired, you will have to take it to the State Standard. Verification is a paid process.

An electric heater could theoretically be fully functional using green electricity, which would provide a "green footprint". However, electricity is also so expensive because a lot of energy is lost in the form of heat during transportation. So it doesn't matter if the heating is with or without green electricity, the power loss is comparatively high anyway.

The mounting height of the device is 0.8-1.7 meters. The installation can be carried out even lower, but not lower than 0.4 m. The place of installation of the electric meter in the apartment is the switchboard in the entrance, which is already installed at a certain height during the construction of the house. This indicative interval was chosen for one single purpose - the convenience of taking the reading of the electricity meter.
The device must stand correctly horizontally and vertically. Deviation - 1º. It should be noted that this is not important for electronic models, although it is already established by the rules.
As for switchboards, boxes and other devices where an electric meter is installed, there are no special restrictions in the rules. Their designs may vary. The only thing that is indicated in the PUE is free access, easy wire connection, ease of installation and dismantling.
If a three-phase device rated for a voltage of 380 volts is being installed, it is recommended that a disconnecting device be installed in front of it at a distance of no more than 10 meters (knife switch, circuit breaker, fuses, etc.).

Attention! Turning off a three-phase electric meter means removing the voltage from all three phases.

Alternatively, electricity from your own photovoltaic system is available if available. However, it must first be available in sufficient quantities - especially during the darker heating season. There are hardly any funding opportunities for electric heaters, which is primarily due to low energy efficiency. The subsidies that led to a reduction in overnight storage have already been phased out in most federal states. Only electrically powered electrical systems that can produce their own electricity are supported.

True, in the last position there is a nuance. Energy supply organizations, seeing the machine installed before the electricity meter, immediately begin to suspect the consumer of the possibility of stealing electric current.
