Topiary from coffee beans flower. Coffee trees (40 photos): how to create a topiary with your own hands

Excellent A coffee tree of happiness can become an interior decoration, which can be quite easily do it yourself. It consists of three parts - the crown of a decorative tree, the trunk and the base. They are prepared separately and then fastened together.

In this material we will look in detail at how you can make a coffee tree with your own hands at home and what materials and tools we will need for this. To make a tree crown, you can use a plastic or foam ball as a base, for example a ball, like in a children's dry pool. If desired, you can choose a different crown shape.

Previously in the crown of the coffee tree of happiness (or, as it is also called, decorative topiary ) from below you need to make a small hole for the trunk, for example, using a stationery knife or nail scissors, make a crosswise cut. After that topiary crown Can be covered with coffee beans. For the best flavor, you should buy fresh beans.

In the first layer, it is better to place the grains with the convex side up and as close to each other as possible. If you can’t place the grains too close, it’s okay, the second and third layers will still close the gaps. In the second layer, to create a “sloppy” effect, the grains should be glued in different ways, sometimes with the flat side, sometimes with the convex side. For the second layer, it is worth leaving the grains of the most beautiful shape.

The next layer of grains will be auxiliary, since with its help all the gaps remaining after the first two layers are closed. As a rule, the gaps between the grains remain small, so the thinnest grains are needed so that they can be glued on edge. You can glue the grains with super glue or PVA glue. We have prepared for you Master Class(see below) with which you can easily make a coffee tree of happiness with your own hands using a photo with a detailed description of all stages of work.

Having prepared the crown, they begin to take on the trunk of the future tree. It can be made from different materials, but the easiest way is to find a beautiful branch of a tree. To paint it, you can use any color you like. A coffee crown on a golden trunk will look great. It is better to choose paint special for decorative work. Instead of painting, the trunk can be decorated with a beautiful rope, like a rope one.

Having prepared the trunk, it needs to be inserted into the hole previously left in the crown of the coffee tree. For strength, you can add plasticine to the hole. The gaps remaining around the trunk are also sealed with coffee beans in several layers.

Final stage - the base of the coffee tree of happiness. You can choose a beautiful bucket or flower pot for it. Inside, instead of soil, there can be different materials, for example, alabaster - a quickly hardening and firmly holding material. If the choice is alabaster, you need to work quickly, as it “sets” in just 3-5 minutes. That's why coffee tree trunk length must be determined in advance, before the tree is “planted” at the base. In order for the composition to have a neat appearance, the remains of the alabaster should be wiped off with a damp cloth, not only from the pot, but also from the trunk.

Already ready-made coffee tree can be further decorated. For example, you can glue several matching beads or a decorative ladybug, various flowers and ribbons onto the crown. The top layer of “soil” in a pot can also be made of coffee - it’s nice to look at and smells delicious, especially since it can be renewed periodically, because the beans do not stick, but are simply poured on.

A detailed master class with photos of the stages of work, with which you can make a coffee tree with your own hands.

The idea of fragrant ornamental trees is not new, but it certainly deserves attention. Making a coffee tree with your own hands is not difficult; at the same time, it will look very advantageous in the interior and can be an excellent gift for any coffee lover, both men and women. And the aroma of wood from coffee beans speaks for itself. In this article we will tell you how to make a tree from coffee beans.

DIY coffee tree: materials and tools

  • coffee beans (you can experiment by replacing them with anise seeds);
  • a vase or small pot, which can be purchased at any flower shop;
  • a tree twig, a Japanese chopstick, a skewer to make a tree trunk from coffee beans;
  • a foam ball (can be purchased at a craft store);
  • coarse twine or ribbon for decoration;
  • reliable, transparent glue. It is best to use a hot silicone glue gun; it holds the parts securely and is odorless. An alternative can be any other “Superglue” or “Moment”;
  • spray paint in golden or brown color;
  • stuffing (synthetic fluff, crumpled paper or scraps of fabric to fill the prepared small pot);
  • decorative details to suit your taste;
  • cardboard, pencil, scissors.

How to make a tree from coffee beans

First, let's prepare the crown and trunk of our improvised tree for work. This can be done in different ways. The simplest, in my opinion, is to carefully tint the stick on all sides using a can of nitro paint of a matching color. Remember that it is better to do this in a well-ventilated area, after placing paper or a napkin on the table so as not to stain the tabletop with paint.

If you don’t like this option or don’t have the paint you’re looking for on hand, you can tightly wrap the stick with twine or thread, leaving a little free space on top, since part of the stick will still end up inside the ball. The ends of the winding are secured with a few drops of glue.

It is also better to tint the ball so that the white base does not show through in the gaps between the coffee beans. It is ideal to use gold, brown or even black paint for this. To make it more convenient to work, the ball should be placed on a small stand, and the spray can should be kept at a sufficiently large distance from it, since fine-grained polystyrene foam can begin to unsightly sinter under the influence of too much aggressive paint. Theoretically, a foam ball can be replaced with a blank rolled up from crumpled paper and covered with soft napkins, but in this case you are unlikely to be able to achieve a perfectly round shape.

When the paint on the ball is completely dry, you can start gluing the coffee beans. This work is simple, but quite painstaking. The grains must be glued as close to each other as possible, so that there are practically no gaps. In the center of the ball, it is better to immediately mark the place of the future connection of the crown with the stick-trunk and leave it free during the work process.

When the ball is completely decorated with coffee, insert the stem deeply into the bottom of the ball. It is better to first pour a little glue there for reliability. Make sure that the stick is not too long and that the entire structure is sufficiently stable.

To ensure that the coffee tree does not dangle loosely in the vase, but holds firmly in place, the container should be tightly filled with some kind of material. Special padding - holofiber - is best suited, but sand, sawdust, paper or synthetic padding are also suitable as “soil”. You need to stuff it as tightly as possible.

From thick cardboard, cut out a circle with a diameter slightly smaller than the neck of the vase or pot and make a small, neat hole in its center for the cutting. The circle should completely hide the insides of the vase and fix the tree in its place. I used gold cardstock that matched the color of the wood. If you don’t have something like this on hand, you can also cover regular cardboard with coffee beans - it won’t look any worse.

We insert the tree into the hole prepared for this and securely “plant” it in the pot. All that remains is to add a few decorative touches to suit your taste. I used copper butterfly trims, gluing them to the “crown” and “trunk”. You can tie a ribbon or twine around the pot, or place a few beautiful beads between the coffee beans - nothing should limit your imagination.
The coffee tree is ready, you can enjoy the view and aroma, and, of course, brew yourself a cup of invigorating drink.

Master class with step-by-step photos “Topiary from coffee beans”

This master class is intended for middle-aged and older children, additional education teachers, educators and all those who love to be creative and create masterpieces with their own hands.
Purpose: coffee topiary is a wonderful decoration for the interior of an apartment, an original hand-made gift for loved ones.
Performed: Lapteva Svetlana Khristyanovna, teacher of the state budgetary institution of the Novosibirsk region “Social rehabilitation center for minors”, Tatarsk
Target: making topiary from coffee beans.
Tasks:
- teach the technology of making topiary;
- instill labor and accuracy skills;
- develop aesthetic taste.
Coffee beans are by far the most popular material for creating topiary. They look quite chic, bring happiness to the home, and have a unique coffee aroma that creates an atmosphere of warmth and comfort.

Making topiary from coffee beans is not at all as difficult as it might seem at first glance. If you have ever made a miniature tree, then you will not have any difficulties, but if you decide to make it for the first time, then the step-by-step manufacturing process presented in the master class will definitely help you.
To complete the work you need:

- coffee beans;
- newspapers;
- sewing threads;
- PVA glue;
- scissors;
- construction gypsum;
- a small disposable cup;
- cup;
- burlap;
- leg-split;
- glue gun;
- wire;
- toilet paper;
- pliers;
- stick.
Let's begin the work by making the topiary crown. It consists of a ball and a barrel.
We make a ball from newspapers and sewing threads. We crumple the newspaper, giving it a round shape. We rewind each layer of newspaper with threads, constantly leveling it and giving it the shape of a ball. The diameter of the ball should be approximately 12-13 cm.

We tear the paper into pieces and cover the ball. We do this to make the surface of the ball more even.

This is what the ball should look like after covering it with paper.

We make a cross-shaped cut on the ball, a tree trunk will be inserted into it.

Add a little coffee to the PVA glue and coat the ball with the resulting brown glue so that it is the same color as the coffee beans, in this case there will be no “holes” or unwanted gaps on the product. When we glue the grains, the base will be visible, therefore, by painting it to match the coffee, the base will not show through so much. Give it time to dry thoroughly.

Let's start making the barrel. We take the wire, fold it several times, since it is thin, and give it the shape of a snake.

Take a strip of paper, fold it lengthwise into three layers and wrap it around the snake.

Having wrapped the snake completely along its entire length, lubricate it well with PVA glue and let it dry. This is done to make the snake more rigid.

We try on the resulting stem and determine the height. If necessary, the barrel can be shortened. We wrap the trunk with twine. This is what a snake barrel looks like.

Take a stick and wrap it with twine.

Straight trunk of topiary.

Assembling a tree trunk. We insert the straight stem into the middle of the snake. This is what the design should look like.

We insert a tree trunk into the cut of the ball. If necessary, secure with a glue gun around the barrel.

In a disposable cup, dilute the plaster with water to a creamy consistency and fix the crown in it.

Let's move on to the most interesting and painstaking task - gluing the grains. We will glue it using a glue gun.
We select grains that are even and identical in size. We try to glue grain to grain. Coffee beans should be placed as close to each other as possible. If you can't do this with your fingers, use small tongs.

This is what happened.

We look where the base is visible and glue the second layer of coffee beans. When the second layer of grains is glued, the surface texture will become more interesting, more prominent, and the tree itself will look more noble.

Having completed the design of the crown with grains, the tree can be “planted” in a pot. We use an ordinary simple glass as a pot. Take a piece of burlap 4cm wide and glue it along the edge on the inside of the glass.

Fold the burlap down.

Apply glue to the bottom of the glass using a glue gun, and glue our topiary to the bottom of the glass.

Pour coffee beans into the free space of the glass.

Let's decorate the topiary with a decorative element. Take a piece of burlap 10 cm long and 3 cm wide. We pull the threads from the middle of the strip.

Fold the blank in half and make a stitch.

We tighten the threads and form a flower.

We take 10 threads that were pulled out of the burlap, tie them into a bundle, and make them of different lengths.

Using a glue gun, glue the coffee beans to the threads. Glue the two grains together by inserting a burlap thread between them.

This brush with grains turned out after gluing.

We insert the blank into the middle of the flower.

Glue three coffee beans onto the flower.

Glue the decorative element to the crown of the tree.

The result of our work.

Coffee topiary with artificial flowers and sisal is made on a foam ball. The tree is planted in a low clay cup, the trunk is reinforced with plaster casting. The crown is formed from coffee beans with bronzing and gilding. The composition is complemented by a scattering of pearls and a decorative ladder attached to the trunk.

Step-by-step master class with photos - coffee topiary

Pouring a clay pot, attaching the trunk

Stage 1. Barrel preparation. For the coffee topiary, a trunk from a wild corilus branch was used: before painting, it was necessary to carefully sand the surface with pumice (you can use sandpaper). Store-bought Corilus sticks are supplied already smooth.

We attach the prepared trunk with plasticine to the bottom of the cup, planning in advance where the crown will be. We sharpen the opposite end to simplify the subsequent fixation of the ball.

If there is a drainage hole in a flower pot, carefully seal it with tape and plasticine so that the solution does not leak out.

Stage 2. Filling the pot. Mix building plaster or alabaster 1 to 1 with warm water (but not hot). Fill the pot almost to the top, leave for a day so that the plaster hardens completely. After drying, cover the surface with 2 layers of PVA glue to improve the adhesion of decorative materials to the plaster.

Forming a crown from coffee beans

Stage 3. Painting the foam ball. The design of the coffee tree involves coating the coffee beans with bronze, so rough painting of the ball is more an option than a necessity: the paint layer will prevent hot silicone from melting the foam. Paints of any color are suitable, we recommend using acrylic - your hands won't get dirty, like with gouache.

Stage 4. Gluing coffee beans. It is much more convenient to glue the coffee before fixing the ball on the barrel. We choose whole and even halves, without flaws. We glue the grains individually, with the outer side up, coating a small area of the ball with silicone or Dragon glue. Bronzing does not require a perfect coffee surface, so this faster method is perfect.

We fill the entire surface of the topiary with coffee, leaving only a small circle under the hole into which we attach the trunk with glue. It is necessary to prepare the hole in advance by cutting it with a sharp object so that the ball does not burst when fixed.

Instead of coffee, you can use pistachio shells, beans, or any other similar shaped material. Any original ideas? Write in the comments or on social networks!

Bronzing coffee topiary

Stage 5. Painting the crown. Using acrylic - antique bronze (with a brush or from a spray can), carefully paint the coffee beans and the gaps between them in 1 layer. Drying time - up to 30 minutes. After bronzing, we take a sponge and gold acrylic: with light movements in a chaotic manner we powder the surface of the coffee topiary.

Stage 6. Painting the barrel. After the crown, we begin painting the trunk and ladder: it is convenient to work in this order. We bronze the trunk in 2 layers, the ladder in one.

Decorating the crown

Stage 7. Basic flower arrangement. On one side of the topiary ball we form a composition of 3 large fabric flowers with a backing of organza and a narrow satin ribbon. Next we glue 3 foamiran roses on twisted satin ribbons. On the opposite side we glue a decorative butterfly.

Stage 8. A scattering of pearls. We glue pearls generously over the entire surface of the coffee tree ball in a chaotic manner - in the cracks between the grains.

Stage 9. Leaves. At the base of the ball we glue 2 leaves and 3 foamiran roses and decorate the composition with pearls. In addition, we glue 3 leaves under large fabric flowers.

Flowerpot design

We glue sisal in a circle onto the plaster surface to completely cover the plaster. A twisted wide dark brown ribbon, a leaf, 2 foamiran roses and a fabric flower - a composition at the base of a coffee tree. We fix the ladder on the opposite side and distribute the remaining pearls evenly over the sisal.

Target: This tree was made for Children's Day.

The coffee tree makes a great birthday gift.

I want to dedicate this master class to everyone who likes coffee topiaries. Each master makes a coffee tree in his own way, based on his vision and imagination. Various materials can be used as decoration. These can be flowers made of paper, ribbons, burlap, lace, sisal, fabric, jute, small floral arrangements in the form of butterflies, ladybugs. The shape of such trees is also very diverse. I made my own coffee tree for the children of my group. The coffee tree makes a great birthday gift.

Necessary materials for making wood from coffee:

Aluminum wire;

Ball for “dry pool”;

Flower pot;

Alibaster;

Wooden skewers for shish kebab;

Dark fabric for the ball;

Various materials for decoration

Step-by-step process of making coffee tree:

Making a trunk for a coffee tree. Measure the length you need. It depends on the height of the pot and the size of the tree. You can make the trunk straight, but I suggest making it wavy. Apply glue to the wire and wrap it with twine.

Select the required size of the ball and make a puncture with the same wire wrapped in twine.

Cover the ball with fabric so that the red color does not show through (I took brown nylon).

We begin to cover the ball with coffee beans. I glue the grains on different sides.

Our ball is covered with grains. We leave it to dry.

While it is drying, we make a ladder of wooden skewers for fairy-tale characters.

Pour alibastra powder into the pot. Pour some water. Stir well. Place the tree trunks and ladder in the center of the pot and hold them in position until the alabaster sets. This will take a few minutes.

I cut thin strips from green paper.

I crush it a little with my hands and turn it into grass. I hide alibastra with our weed.

We decorate our coffee tree with beads, butterflies, ribbons, and fairy-tale characters.

The finished coffee tree can be coated with acrylic varnish for durability and shine, but it is better not to do this so that the aroma of coffee fills any room.
