Design, dimensions, control elements.

The smartphone received an aluminum case measuring 155.6 × 77.3 × 7.3 mm. The case material is practical, the gadget fits comfortably in the hand. On the back panel you can see a 10-LED round flash combined with a laser sensor. The device turned out to be comparable to the iPhone 7 Plus, the screen size of which is 5.5 inches.

The smartphone is similar in size to Meizu Pro 5, but somewhat lighter. Considering the updated hardware and more capacious battery, this is cool.

Display

The display is equipped with a 2.5D touch panel with a diagonal of 5.7 inches, which recognizes pressure pressure (3D press). The screen itself is made using AMOLED technology produced by Samsung, the resolution is 2560 × 1440 with a density of 515 pixels per inch. The colors are somewhat oversaturated, especially red. But it is possible to change the color temperature in the smartphone settings, which allows you to achieve more natural color reproduction. The brightness is high, the image is easy to perceive even in bright sunlight. Overall the display is good, many users even like the oversaturated colors.

Performance

The performance of the smartphone is at the flagship level. The powerful processor manufactured by Samsung remains in the lead even a year after its announcement. As GSMarena experts note, in synthetic tests Meizu Pro 6 Plus is comparable to Huawei Mate 9 and Xiaomi Mi 5s. And the 128 GB version, according to the results of synthetic tests, is more productive than the 64 GB version by a noticeable 10-15%.

There are two versions of the smartphone in total:

  • The 64 GB version is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and an Exynos 8890 processor (8 cores, 4 - 1.5 GHz and 4 - 2.0 GHz), as well as a Mali-T880 MP10 video accelerator
  • The 128 GB version is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and an Exynos 8890 processor (8 cores, 4 - 1.6 GHz and 4 - 2.3 GHz), as well as a Mali-T880 MP12 video accelerator.

Cameras

The main camera remains the same as in Meizu Pro 6 - a 12-megapixel IMX386 sensor made by Sony, equipped with hybrid autofocus and a 10-LED flash. GSMarena experts note good dynamic range and detail, natural color rendition and white balance. Combined with optical stabilization - the main difference from the capabilities of the Meizu Pro 6 camera - it allows you to take good pictures in almost any lighting level.

Video in 4K resolution (3840x160) is recorded at 30 frames per second. When recording in Full HD (1920x1080), the frame rate will remain the same. Possibility of shooting video from a O For some reason there is no higher frequency. It also seems strange to record mono sound when shooting video.

On the front of the smartphone there is a 5 MP selfie camera. It reproduces colors well and has sufficient image detail.

Communications

The smartphone has a full range of communication capabilities:

  • high-speed dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac with support for Wi-Fi Direct and Miracast
  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • fast LTE support
  • NFC chip
  • GPS (A-GPS), GLONASS and Beidou.

In addition, there are two slots for nanoSIM cards. The new USB Type-C connector is used for charging.

Battery

According to GSMarena experts, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus 3400 mAh battery lasts for three days of moderate use. In non-stop mode, you can watch videos for 14 hours, talk for 16 hours, or use the browser for about the same amount of time. The mCharge function (analogous to QuickCharge) is supported, allowing you to charge your smartphone to 50% in 30 minutes.

Memory

You can choose a smartphone in two versions - with 64 or 128 GB of internal memory. There is no slot for a memory card.

Peculiarities

The smartphone is equipped with an additional microphone for noise reduction, a high-quality Hi-Fi DAC ES9018K2M, and an AD45275 amplifier chip. Despite this, the sound of the music speaker may seem quiet to some. The device comes pre-installed with Flyme OS 5; the update to Flyme OS 6 should begin in February 2017.

The international version of the smartphone has problems with NFC and a heart rate sensor; these problems are expected to be fixed with a software update.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus review: display, battery and processor tests; comparison with competitors. Operating time on one charge, examples of photos from the Pro 6 Plus camera.

In the Meizu Pro 6 Plus review, we'll go through the key technical characteristics and compare the 64 and 128 GB versions, which differ in terms of hardware. There will definitely be battery and speed tests, an assessment of the quality of the picture on the display, and examples of photos from the Meizu Pro 6 Plus camera. For fans of music and pure sound - testing the sound quality in headphones and when connecting the phone to an external amplifier.

In the Meizu Pro 6 Plus review, we adhere to the following plan:

  • Meizu Pro 6 Plus battery test and smartphone autonomy rating.
  • Display testing.
  • Comparison of the speed of Meizu Pro 6 Plus in benchmarks.
  • Sound quality testing.
  • Meizu Pro 6 Plus camera: advantages and disadvantages, examples of photos in good and poor lighting.
  • Design, build quality, case materials, interfaces.
  • Results of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus review.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus: battery and autonomy rating

The basis of the power system of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus smartphone is a battery with a capacity 3400 mAh. For a phone with a 5.7-inch screen diagonal and QHD resolution, the battery capacity is, as they say, on the verge. As a rule, devices with similar display and battery characteristics hardly survive until the evening of an eventful day, but tests of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus battery showed that the phone’s battery life is in perfect order.

Autonomy rating96 hours

Video14:42

The overall battery rating of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus is 96 hours, which means that when used sparingly (1 hour a day for calls, surfing the Internet and watching videos), the smartphone will last a full four days on a single charge. Impressive. We also get excellent operating time on a single charge when the screen is active. When watching videos and surfing the web, the phone's battery lasts for more than 14 hours. By modern standards, this is a champion figure; in the league of flagships, few can boast of such autonomy.

Fast charging is supported, and this is proprietary mCharge 2.0. The kit includes a 24 W charger that can revive the battery by 50% in just 30 minutes.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus display: characteristics and tests

Few 2017 flagships came with Super Amoled displays, so this can be called one of the competitive advantages of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus smartphone. The screen diagonal will please fans of phablets - 5.7 inches. Permission QHD, pixel density 515 ppi.

But we are interested not only in the passport part, but also in the quality of the picture on the display, its readability in the sun, and the correctness of color rendering. Tests of Meizu Pro 6 Plus revealed all the strengths and weaknesses of the screen.

Among the advantages, we pay attention to good brightness - 450 nits. The black depth and contrast of Amoled panels are good by default. Readability in the sun is excellent; Diagrams will help you compare Meizu Pro 6 Plus with other representatives of the top segment. Note. Charts do not display correctly in the Samsung Internet browser, older browsers, and some built-in browsers on mobile platforms. We recommend opening the publication in the current builds of Google Chrome, Opera or Firefox.

Sun contrast ratio

The main drawback of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus screen is its mediocre color accuracy. The average color accuracy factor was 6.2 , the maximum reached the mark 13.6 . Let us remind you that the lower the DeltaE coefficient, the better. Such indicators do not suit a flagship, but this is the only drawback of the display, and for many this is not such a problem.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus review: chipset specifications

In the hardware characteristics of Meizu Pro 6 Plus we see an interesting picture. The chipsets of the 64Gb and 128Gb versions of the smartphone are different, and the differences are significant. Yes, both configurations run on the top-end chip of 2016 Exynos 8890, which is certainly very good. (A similar chipset is found in the Galaxy S7.) There are no and cannot be any complaints about the processor - it successfully copes with both computing tasks and 3D graphics.

The nuance is that the chipset configuration Meizu Pro 6 Plus 64Gb received a stripped-down version of the Mali-T880 graphics accelerator. If the reference video card has 12 computing cores, then the Meizu Pro 6 Plus 64Gb has only 10 of them. The decision is strange, because the frame rate will not increase from such castling. Another difference between the Meizu Pro 6 Plus 64Gb is the processor clock speed. The peak frequency of Mongoose cores is limited to 2.0 GHz, and the energy-efficient Cortex A53 cores are limited to 1.5 GHz.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus 128Gb runs on a full-fledged Exynos 8890: powerful cores are overclocked to 2.3 GHz, reference cores operate at 1.6 GHz. The graphics accelerator has 12 cores, as it should be.

It should be noted that if you do not plan to load your smartphone with extremely complex tasks, you can not pay much attention to the differences - both chips are quite good even by flagship standards. But avid gamers are better off taking Meizu Pro 6 Plus 128Gb - they will not only get additional space for games, but also a more powerful graphics system. By the way, the smartphone does not have a slot for a microSD memory card, so there will be plenty of memory available.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus: performance tests

The Meizu Pro 6 Plus review included equipment with 64Gb, that is, a potentially less fast smartphone. However, the synthetic results should not disappoint anyone - the phone is good in all testing modes.

GeekBench 4 benchmarks test the processing power of the CPU (central processing unit). The Meizu Pro 6 Plus smartphone is predictably located at the bottom of the rating, all due to the lower clock speed of the cores. However, the results can be compared with the flagships of 2016-2017.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus tests: GeekBench 4 (single-core)

Gamers are interested in testing Meizu Pro 6 Plus in the GFX 3.1 and BaseMark X benchmarks, which checks the potential of the graphics adapter. As one would expect, the stripped-down version of the Mali-T880 showed results that were far from record-breaking. But! With a screen resolution of 1080p, Meizu Pro 6 Plus is practically not inferior to smartphones based on Snapdragon 821 and is ahead of and.

With the native screen resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels), the picture does not change much, except that the position of Meizu Pro 6 Plus weakens somewhat. However, in GFX 3.1 Manhattan (onscreen), the smartphone still outperforms some competitors. Problems appeared only in BaseMark X, in which the Chinese flagship lagged even behind the Galaxy S6.

In comprehensive tests assessing the overall speed of a smartphone, Meizu Pro 6 Plus ranks at the very bottom of the flagship table. Meizu Pro 6 Plus's Antutu scores are not impressive. By and large, the indicator 113397 in Antutu is closer to the performance of phones in the middle rather than the top price segment.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus in AnTuTu 6

Music lovers and audiophiles should like the Meizu Pro 6 Plus smartphone. There is a dedicated digital-to-analog converter here Saber ES9018K2M, which on paper is in no way inferior to the DACs installed in the best smartphones with a dedicated audio chip.

Tests of Meizu Pro 6 Plus showed that when connected to an external amplifier via a 3.5 mm jack, the phone produces a high-quality signal with uniform gain over the entire range. There is some intermodulation distortion when connecting headphones, but overall the quality is excellent. When comparing Meizu Pro 6 Plus with Xiaomi Mi 5s or Meizu MX6, the superiority of Pro 6 Plus is obvious, and only ZTE Axon 7 with two dedicated AK audio chips produces a cleaner signal.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus camera: advantages and disadvantages, photo examples

The Meizu Pro 6 Plus camera may seem like a copy of the MX6 camera. Same sensor Sony IMX386 with permission 12 MP, same aperture ratio 2, the pixel size on the sensor is no different - 1.25 microns. But there is a difference, and it is more than significant. Meizu Pro 6 Plus camera received optical image stabilization, which significantly improves the quality of images in low light (Achilles' heel). The Pro 6 Plus camera specifications are in the table, and immediately below the table are the advantages and disadvantages.

Pro 6 Plus camera benefits:

  • Excellent dynamic range.
  • Very good detail.
  • Good contrast.
  • Good white balance.
  • Good color reproduction, although the gamma goes towards warm tones.

Pro 6 Plus Camera Disadvantages:

  • Lacks clarity of small details.
  • There is noise that is suppressed along with detail.

The Pro 6 Plus camera supports HDR, which improves the contrast and dynamic range of pictures, but practice shows that it should only be turned on in poor lighting. In good lighting, contrast and range are fine, but turning on HDR makes the pictures less realistic.

The main difference when comparing Meizu Pro 6 Plus with Meizu MX6 is the quality of pictures in low light and at night. Representatives of the mid-price segment have problems with this, but the flagship copes with the task perfectly. We have the optical stub to thank for this. Examples of photographs are in front of you, and you can see 100% of the crop.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus front camera. The front camera with a resolution of 5 megapixels allows you to take good pictures for social networks. It's better not to expect amazing quality, but you shouldn't find fault with selfies with the Pro 6 Plus either.

Video: The Meizu Pro 6 Plus smartphone supports shooting in 4K and Full HD at 30 frames per second. 2160p video has a good dynamic range, good detail, contrast and color reproduction. There are no artifacts. Disadvantages - recording occurs in the H.265 format, which is less supported compared to H.264, and the sound is mono. On the other hand, files in this format weigh less and can be played on a phone without problems.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus: design, build quality, body materials, interfaces

In the Meizu Pro 6 Plus review, GSMArena experts noted the excellent quality of materials and workmanship. The editors of Five-Inches fully share this point of view. Every reader can personally evaluate the quality of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus case - the phone is widely represented in offline stores. It is not difficult to pick it up, twirl it and touch it.

The body of Meizu Pro 6 Plus is made of aluminum. The front panel is covered with 2.5D glass. The smartphone is only 7.3 mm thick and weighs 158 grams. There are bezels around the display, but they are no wider than other phones in this price segment. There is no free space left on the bottom edge: a speaker, microphone, 3.5 mm jack and USB Type-C are located here.

On the right side there is a lock button, immediately above it is a volume rocker. The left side houses a slot for two SIM cards. We remind you that the Meizu Pro 6 Plus does not have an expansion slot for a memory card.

A fingerprint scanner is built into the Home button, which is both mechanical and touch-sensitive. When pressed, it performs a direct function; when touched, it turns into a “Back” button. The fingerprint scanner is not active by default, in addition, GSMArena journalists noted that the Meizu Pro 6 Plus has it not as fast and accurate as Huawei or Xiaomi sensors. Among wireless technologies, we note support for Wi-Fi networks 5 GHz.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus review: results

Summing up the review of Meizu Pro 6 Plus, it should be noted that the smartphone has arguments for a confident positioning in the top price segment. It may not reach the level of A-brand flagships, but the price of Meizu Pro 6 Plus is still lower, and the price difference may be a deciding factor for many.

Strengths of Meizu Pro 6 Plus:

  • Excellent battery life rating.
  • Super Amoled display with excellent readability in sunlight.
  • Dedicated Saber ES9018K2M DAC and excellent sound quality in headphones.

Disadvantages of Meizu Pro 6 Plus:

  • A stripped-down version of the graphics adapter included in the Meizu Pro 6 Plus 64Gb package.
  • Lack of dust and moisture protection.
  • The colors on the display are not reproduced correctly.

That's all. Thanks for your attention, stay with Five-Inches, follow the publications. If you find an error or inaccuracy in the material, write in the comments, we will correct it!

The company constantly pleases us with interesting new products, and we are among the first to introduce them to the public. Most recently, we published a review of the budget new Meizu M5. And we actually got acquainted with the M3E model immediately after the presentation in China.

The hero of the review can be safely called long-awaited and interesting. And this is logical, because flagship models usually have a number of features and features that are interesting to learn about. Today we will talk about Meizu Pro 6 Plus.

When Meizu Pro 6 was introduced, many began to guess that Meizu was clearing space to release another, more functional device. After all, some functions familiar to flagships (like optical camera stabilization) were absent there. The expectations were justified.

Let's see whether it's worth waiting for the Pro 6 Plus to go on sale and go to stores for it or place a pre-order. By the way, pre-orders are already open on the manufacturer’s website. But the smartphone is expected to be available only at the beginning of next year.

Since this is the most expensive representative of the Meizu range of devices, it is logical to expect the best characteristics. Expectations were justified, our hero is equipped to the maximum.

So, it uses a flagship processor, the same as in the Samsung Galaxy S7. The RAM and main memory reserves are large, and the display does not disappoint. It will also be interesting to pay attention to the autonomy of the flagship and its camera, which is equipped with optical stabilization.

Packaging and equipment Meizu Pro 6 Plus

The packaging is familiar to us from the Pro 6 model. It is a plastic case with a lid. The material perfectly protects the contents from damage. However, the design also has an incomprehensible feature - the lid is fixed in place only with factory paper seals. Once the package is opened, it will no longer be possible to close it properly.

and the front side indicates the device model. The design is minimalist, just black. And the letters themselves are made in silver. Moreover, this is not just paint, but individual symbols recessed into the lid.

The manufacturer's logo is engraved on the back side, and there is also a sticker with identification numbers and the main characteristics of the device.

Inside, all items are fixed in a special form-stand made of thin plastic. Nothing dangles or rattles, everything is decent.

The device itself is protected on all sides with protective films, and under it there is a cover with technological documentation and a clip for removing the slot for SIM cards and a memory card.

The kit comes with a minimal set of accessories; no additional items were found.

The package includes:

  • Power adapter;
  • USB Type C cable
  • Technological documentation;
  • A paperclip for removing the card slot.

If it were not for the absence of any kind of fixation of the lid, other than paper factory seals, the packaging could easily be called excellent. However, there is a flaw. The rest of the box is nothing but pleasing. It is distinguished by high quality, reliable material and attracts attention with its unusualness. Although plastic can still be less reliable compared to high-quality cardboard. For example, if it falls, the cardboard will only get wrinkled, but the plastic will crack.

Introduction

I think that fans of Meizu (and not only) have finally waited for an uncompromising option called Pro 6 Plus. If you remember, last year the Pro 6 was released - a music device with compact dimensions. The gadget turned out to be good, but it clearly did not live up to the flagship model. The Chinese decided to quickly fix this issue and release a truly powerful device with the best screen and the best camera among all Meizu devices. Of course, there are other notable points (for example, the music processor from ESS Technology), but it is the screen and camera that deserve close attention: the display is SuperAMOLED with QHD resolution, and the camera is equipped not only with laser focusing, but also with the long-awaited optical image stabilization.

Looking ahead, in my opinion, the smartphone was a great success, a definite flagship and a direct competitor to many devices from A-brands.

The cost of the device version with 64 GB of internal memory is 35,000 rubles, the cost of the 128 GB version is 39,000 rubles.

P.S. The device was tested on firmware with Flyme 5. After writing the text, the Flyme 6 update appeared.

Design, dimensions, control elements

Throughout the past year, Meizu designers rested and relaxed as best they could, so the consumer received new smartphones in the old guise. Yes, the color and materials changed, but the essence remained the same - a rectangle with a large “eye” on the back side in the center and a touch-mechanical button on the front panel. The gadgets were identical, and even the “shamans” of our profession could hardly distinguish Meizu phones from each other.

If you wanted to hear that the appearance of the Pro 6 Plus has changed, then, alas, I’ll disappoint you - everything is the same: something is taken from the Pro 6, something from previous generations of smartphones. I am sure that we have sorted out this issue.

However, despite the above, Pro 6 Plus is the crowning achievement of Meizu’s creation: the device really looks like a completely finished product. The assembly inspires confidence; there is no feeling of cheapness, as, for example, from other Chinese “left-handed” devices.

The back panel is made of metal, rough to the touch. The antennas are neatly hidden under special seamless inserts at the top and bottom (much like on the Apple iPhone 7/7Plus). The corners are sloping, the front panel has 2.5D glass, which makes it possible to make swipe movements without any problems. All elements are arranged symmetrically.

The screen is protected by glass. The manufacturer does not specify which one. During testing, which was about a month, not a single scratch appeared on the display, in fact, like on the entire body - an excellent result.

There is an oleophobic coating here, its quality is good, fingerprints are not particularly noticeable and are erased quickly. The back cover is also covered with fingerprints.

As for the dimensions, they are not the most compact - 155.6 x 77.3 x 7.3 mm. What bothers me most personally is the width of the device. I think it’s worth following the path of LG with the G6 gadget, that is, reducing not only the frames, but also the width for a comfortable and reliable grip.

The colors are traditional: gold (white front panel and gold back), silver (white front panel and silver back) and dark gray (black front and dark gray back panels). I think it’s worth taking a closer look at the latest version, it looks noble and stylish, the frames are almost invisible, and the color is pleasing to the eye. A thin glossy chamfer runs along the perimeter.

On the top of the front panel: an event indicator, light and proximity sensors, a camera and a speech speaker. The speaker is loud, the interlocutor can be heard perfectly, the timbre is pleasant, low-frequency, there is a reserve in volume.

Below the screen is a traditional touch-mechanical button mTouch version 2.2. with a fingerprint scanner (response speed 0.15 seconds, recognition angle 360 degrees, built-in heart rate sensor, which will be available in Flyme 6). At the presentation, it was noted that due to the presence of a heart rate monitor, the scanner analyzes fingerprints more accurately and provides a higher level of security than before.

At the bottom: 3.5 mm audio output for headphones, microphone, USB Type-C 3.1 (the USB cable has also been changed and now supports charging up to 60 W), speakerphone.

The volume rocker and power button are on the right in the glossy hollow on the right side. On the left there is a slot for two nano SIM cards. On top there is another microphone for noise reduction.

On the reverse side: a large lens with a metal frame, a little lower behind the glass there is a circular flash made up of 10 cold and warm LEDs, laser autofocus.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus and Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition

Display

Meizu Pro 6 uses a screen with a diagonal of 5.7 inches. The physical size of the Pro 6 Plus display is 70.5x125 mm, the frame on top is 15 mm, on the bottom – 15, on the right and left – just over 3 mm. There is an anti-reflective coating.

The display resolution of Meizu Pro 6 Plus is QuadHD, that is, 2560x1440 pixels, density is 515 pixels per inch. The matrix is manufactured by Samsung - SuperAMOLED. The so-called Pentile effect is completely invisible, density makes all the difference!

The maximum brightness of white color is 440 cd/m2 (official data is 600). Contrast – 10,000:1.

The white line is the goal we are trying to achieve. The yellow line is the actual screen data. You can see that we are almost directly on the target curve at values from 0 to 100%, which means that at each value the image is sufficiently highlighted. The yellow line is actually the average amount of red, green and blue.

The average gamma value is 2.3.

Judging by the level graph, blue is in excess and red is in short supply.

At minimum brightness the temperature is closer to 7500 K, with an increase it reaches 8600 K.

Judging by the chart, the data obtained is MUCH larger than the sRGB triangle, especially in the green zone.

Almost all gray points are located outside the DeltaE=10 radius, which indicates that other shades of colors will be present in gray colors.

The viewing angles are maximum; at certain tilts of the screen, the picture turns slightly green.

The device supports quick wake-up functions: double tap, other gestures. There is SmartTouch. When turned on, a small dot appears on the screen, with which you can perform various actions: clicking on the dot - “Back”, moving from bottom to top - launching the notification panel, and so on.

Meizu Pro 6 introduced the 3D Press function, which is an analogue of Apple's 3D Touch. When you press your finger on certain interface elements, the device detects the pressure applied.

An AOD mode has also appeared - always on display. Unfortunately, it is still very simple: the time, date, day of the week and battery charge level are shown on the switched off screen.

Battery

This model uses a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh (lithium polymer).

When working with the device, the battery lasted for about 15-17 hours: about 20-30 minutes of calls per day, about 6 hours of 3G/4G use (constant synchronization of mail, Twitter, WhatsApp, Skype, and so on), about 5 hours of Wi-Fi, several dozen photos, hours of listening to music.

In a more gentle mode, the gadget works for up to 24 hours. If you leave only data synchronization (Wi-Fi), then you can count on two days. Up to 13 hours of continuous talk time.

In movie mode (FullHD/4K), the battery runs out after about 12 hours, in gaming mode the battery lasts for about 4 hours, in audio playback mode at maximum volume – up to 60 hours.

Performance

The new Meizu Pro 6 Plus was equipped with a Samsung chipset – Exynos 8890. Just in case, I’ll say that this is the chip found in the flagship Galaxy S7 model. The Exynos 8890 chipset is a 64-bit processor, eight cores (Samsung Mongoose quad-core 2.0 GHz + Cortex-A53 quad-core 1.5 GHz ARM big.LITTLE), 14 nm FinFET LPP process technology (2nd generation fin-shaped transistors), ARMv8 instruction set -A and ARM Mali-T880 MP10 graphics accelerator. The 8890, as you may have noticed, uses a custom kernel called M1 Mongoose. The main advantage is a significant increase in single-threaded computing performance compared to the previous generation of Exynos.

Interestingly, the smartphone with 128 GB of internal memory received the maximum configuration: 4x2.3 GHz + 4x1.6 GHz and graphics with 12 cores.

When the processor is loaded, the case heats up, but within normal limits. Performance is not in question - everything flies: from applications to toys at maximum settings.

Multimedia

In this case, in terms of sound, Meizu Pro 6 Plus is almost the same as in Pro 5. The speaker has a high volume, sounds clear and pleasant.

When it comes to music, audiophiles will be pleased to know that ESS Technology's audiophile ES9018K2M Saber 32-bit dual-channel digital-to-analog converter is available. For those who understand what it is and why, here is the link.

The amplifier is an Analog Devices AD45275 (I have never found any information on it) using Japanese Rubycon ultra-low resistance tantalum capacitors.

Also on the official website of the Meizu company it is said about the unique patented Analog Devices XFCB (extra Fast-Complementary Bipolar process) technology, which allows minimizing the power consumption of the amplifier.

I'm not a professional sound reviewer, but I thought the Pro 6 Plus sounded on par with the Pro 5, Pro 6, and Highscreen Boost 3.

Conclusion

As I wrote at the very beginning of the text, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus smartphone was a success. It has everything that almost any user needs: photography lovers will appreciate the camera with optical stabilization, music lovers will appreciate the sound, gamers will appreciate the performance, and connoisseurs of high-quality screen matrices will appreciate the display with QuadHD SuperAMOLED resolution. That is, the device came out quite balanced. The new version of Flyme 6 gave the device a second wind: simple exposure selection in the camera, pop-up incoming call, screen video recording, new interface animation and much more.

Of course, I would like to finally get an NFC chip, stereo speakers and IP68 protection... However, I think we will see all this in the next generations of Meizu smartphones.

The release of Meizu Pro 6 Plus 64GB was a real surprise for fans of this Chinese brand. The design and characteristics of the model exceeded even the wildest expectations.

Design

The new Meizu model is based on an improved aluminum body, so that the large diagonal is almost unnoticeable. The display/body ratio here is one of the best – 75%. The phablet is comfortable in the hand and looks harmonious.

Screen

The Super Amoled screen has no black frames. Thanks to the new QuadHD display, brightness, color reproduction and contrast are improved.

Performance

The eight-core Samsung Exynos 8890 with a 10-core Mali-T880 video accelerator provides very decent performance. In Antutu, the device shows a stable 112 thousand points, and the 128 GB version is even 130. Even though this is less than that of its competitors, it is quite enough for intensive multitasking and heavy 3D games.

Cameras

The main camera uses a Sony IMX386 sensor, two autofocuses (laser and phase detection), six-lens optics and a ring-shaped LED flash. Users note that the flash has average brightness, but it correctly conveys the white balance and does not overextend the photo. The module is equipped with 4-axis optical stabilization and a proprietary image processor, which allows you to take excellent pictures at night. Regarding video: the camera shoots in 4K with support for Slow Motion mode.

The front camera received special filters and ArcSoft image processing algorithms, so “selfies” turn out bright and natural. However, compared to the optics of its closest competitors, the Pro 6 Plus cameras are unlikely to surprise with their results.

Hi-Fi audio

The Pro 6 Plus uses an ESS processor, an ADI amplifier, and RUBYCON ceramic capacitors to provide Excellent sound reproduction in the frequency range of 180 mHz.

Wireless interfaces

The smartphone has 64 GB of internal memory, works with 2 SIM, and is not equipped with an SD card slot. So you will have to limit yourself to the available volume. You will be pleased with the presence of a USB-C connector and heart rate monitor function on the fingerprint scanner.

Autonomous operation

The model is equipped with a 3400 mAh lithium-polymer battery, designed for 900 full charge cycles, which is approximately twice as long as its analogues.

Thanks to Quick Charge 3.0 technology, the battery is charged to 60% in just half an hour, and a full charge is enough to watch 8 hours of HD video.

Overall, the new product is very worthy, especially for gamers and music lovers.
