Beautiful gate from the profile. The process of making a gate from corrugated board with your own hands

The range of materials for the manufacture of gates is unusually wide, but individual developers prefer corrugated board. The choice is due to the qualities of this material. It is strong, durable, lightweight, decorative, inexpensive and easy to install. To make a gate from corrugated board with your own hands, a minimum number of tools and components and a few free days are enough.

Characteristics of corrugated board - advantages and disadvantages

Profiled sheets are produced in the factory using cold-rolled steel sheet technology. The sheet is galvanized on both sides, and this protects it from external factors and corrosion. For decorative purposes and additional protection, corrugated board is also covered with a thin layer of polymer of various colors.

Gates made of corrugated board can be decorated with wrought iron elements

The profile sheet has a variety of advantages:

  • durability. The quality of the material ensures a service life of up to 50 years;
  • appearance. Products from a professional flooring look thoroughly and attractively, are well combined with any material. Thanks to a wide range of textures and colors, you can experiment with product design;
  • low weight and, accordingly, low load on the supports. This feature facilitates the delivery and installation of the material. Moreover, for light sheathing, massive support posts are not required, which reduces costs;
  • ease of maintenance and operation. Gates made of profiled sheet do not need to be painted, do not fade or fade from the effects of weather factors;
  • affordable price. Given the above characteristics, the cost of the material in comparison with others captivates.
  • the need for free space for opening;
  • the probability of hitting the car with a sash;
  • increased wind load in regions with difficult weather conditions.

In addition to the profiled sheet, to create the gate you will need a profiled pipe of rectangular section. The design is a rectangular profile frame, to which profiled leaf shutters are attached. The size of the leaves determines the type of traffic that will pass through the gate. If this is a passenger car, then a total width of 3–4 m is sufficient. For a truck, the gate opening must be at least 5 m.

The choice of corrugated board

Among themselves, profiled sheets differ in thickness, degree of strength and height of the rib.

  • "WITH" - lightweight and durable galvanized wall sheet with a small thickness and height of the rib. The most common choice;
  • "NS" - denser profiled sheet with a higher rib height, but also heavier;
  • "N" - a massive bearing profiled sheet used for roofs of a huge area. Not suitable for gates due to high weight and high cost.

Depending on the type and size, corrugated board is used for roofing, formwork, walls, fences.

The best choice would be a profiled sheet of brand C8 or C10. The number indicates the height of the wave in centimeters. The sheet thickness of this brand is from 0.4 to 0.8 mm. Sashes made of grade C profiled sheet will weigh from 25 to 40 kg, so they can be easily hung together without the use of special lifting equipment. Due to the fact that one profiled sheet per sash will not be enough, the size is calculated based on the width of the material.

Production of gates from corrugated board

The procedure for making gates from corrugated board is determined by the logic of construction.

Drawings and calculation of the size of the gate

The most common are two types of gates made of profiled sheet - hinged and retractable. But if it is difficult to make sliding gates at home, then it is quite possible to assemble a swing structure consisting of two identical parts. Swing gates can open outward or inward. The gate can either be cut into one of the wings, or installed separately on the side of the gate. It depends on the availability of free space. Before assembling and installing the gate, it is necessary to draw a drawing, which will indicate the exact dimensions of the product.

A drawing of a swing gate frame with measurements will help you make them yourself

The scheme should include:

  • opening width;
  • the number of racks and their cross section;
  • depth of digging supports;
  • frame drawing indicating all lengths;
  • the position of the gate and its dimensions;
  • place for loops;
  • a place for a castle;
  • a place for a deadbolt;
  • reinforcement elements and their length.

Gates from corrugated board can be made without a gate, but then it will be inconvenient to use them.

If the gate is small and not heavy, you can do without a gate

More often, gates are made of corrugated board with a separate or built-in gate.

Bulky and heavy gates imply the mandatory construction of a gate

To create a swing gate from two wings with a gate made of profiled sheet 3 × 2 m in size, you will need the following materials:

  • profile pipe made of metal 20×20×3 mm with a square section for forming the inner frame of the gate leaves and the base of the wicket;
  • square support tube - 60×60×3 mm; for sash frame - 60×40×3 mm;
  • a pipe with a square section of 40 × 40 × 2 mm for the frame stiffeners;
  • wall corrugated board with a wave of 15–21 mm. You can take either just galvanized C8 or a sheet with a polymer color coating - it depends on the budget; it is better to cut sheets in the workshop, since corrosion can occur along the edges with artisanal cutting;
  • corners and ebbs;
  • loops - two for each leaf and two for the gate;
  • self-tapping screws for metal roofing galvanized or in the color of corrugated board;
  • self-tapping screws for fastening sheets or hex screws;
  • rivets;
  • electrodes for welding with a diameter of 2–3 mm;
  • primer for metal products;
  • decor (if necessary).

Preparing tools for making gates

For the construction of gates from corrugated board you will need:

  • drill;
  • welding inverter;
  • Bulgarian;
  • screwdriver;
  • laser or any other level;
  • plumb;
  • metal scissors;
  • spray gun or brushes.

Frame assembly

Since the frame bears all the wind load, and the torsional rigidity of the corrugated board is low, it is important to make the frame as reliable as possible. The gate frame is assembled on a flat surface at least as large as one gate leaf. To get right angles, use special exact squares.

  1. First, metal blanks are made at an angle of 45 °.
  2. Each workpiece is cleaned of rust and dirt with a brush - a nozzle on a drill.

    With the help of a special nozzle on the drill, the workpieces are cleaned of rust and dirt.

  3. A carefully measured frame from a profile pipe is first baited, and then welded in the form of a rectangle, and the corners are reinforced with steel corners for additional rigidity.

    The frame of the profile pipe is reinforced with steel corners

  4. The long side of the sash is divided into three parts and lintels are welded in these places, which are also reinforced with corners, and then gate hinges are welded to the lintels. The frame is not completely welded, so that in case of skew, it can be adjusted according to the level. The bolt is welded at the frame assembly stage. Welding is carried out with tacks in increments of 20 to 40 cm. A solid seam is not allowed, as this can lead to deformation of the metal during heating. The upper corners are cut obliquely with a cut to avoid corrosion, and the lower corners are cut at a right angle, end-to-end, for ventilation.

    Hinges for gates made of corrugated board may not be too large, as the gate is not heavy

  5. Clean up welds.

    Welds are cleaned of slag for better adhesion of paint

  6. The frame is degreased with gasoline or solvent.

    Before painting, the frame must be degreased

  7. Paint the frame in the desired color.

Ground clearance should be at least 5 cm for asphalt pavement and 15-30 cm for unpaved. If the clearance turned out to be too large, then a removable bar can be installed on it, which is removed in the winter.

If a gate is planned in the sash, then the frame is assembled in a different way:

  1. In the desired sash, a wicket frame is created with a size of 180 × 80 cm.

    The width of the gate in the gate leaf is no more than two thirds of the width of the leaf

  2. Loops are shifted to the edges of the gate.

    If the corrugated boarding gate is located in the gate leaf, strong hinges are required that can hold double the weight

  3. The assembly principle is the same, only the profiles use a smaller size.
  4. The sash into which the gate will be embedded is additionally strengthened.

    The gate leaf with a built-in wicket is reinforced with an additional profile pipe

frame skin

Sheathing of the frame is carried out immediately after the assembly of the frame. The profiled sheet can be fastened in several ways - screw it with hexagonal screws or self-tapping screws. Joints are additionally fixed with rivets or self-tapping screws. Self-tapping screws are preferable, as they exclude water from entering the attachment point. The profiled sheet can be mounted on one or both sides of the frame. The profiled sheet must also be fixed on the jumpers.
You can decorate the sheathing with forged elements that are welded or screwed to the profiled sheet in accordance with the drawing.

Hinge installation

Since the gates made of profiled sheet sail pretty well, it is better to choose expensive hinges, preferably on bearings. First, the hinges are welded to the frame, and then to the support post, but vice versa is also possible. For heavy gates, at least 3 hinges are used. The location of the hinge affects the position of the sash in the open state. If it is necessary that the sashes open in both directions, the hinge is butt welded to the support. If in one, then they put a loop on the frame.

Mortise locks

The locks cut in after hanging the sashes. They differ in installation rules and types:

  • mounted. For them, it is necessary to provide special loops even at the stage of welding the frame;

    A padlock on a gate made of corrugated board is convenient in areas with heaving soil

  • overhead. For a padlock, a special sheet of metal or an additional frame element is welded or screwed. Welding is not used to install locks, as they sometimes need to be repaired or replaced;

    An additional frame element is installed from the inside to mount the overhead lock on the gate

  • mortise. They cut into the plane of the pipe into a special metal pocket.

    The mortise lock can be closed with a key or with the help of a special filling built into the handle

Be sure to weld a pipe to lock the gate from the fittings from the wind and to redistribute the load from the lock. You can also install a latch or constipation.

Step-by-step guide to installing a gate from a profiled sheet

  1. The first step is marking the place for the gate.
  2. Next, pits are dug for pillars at least one meter deep. Before digging in, the supports are treated with a primer against corrosion.

    Pole holes can be dug by hand or with a drill

  3. The pillars are set according to the level and fixed with a but (broken brick or stones).
  4. Concrete is poured into the pits in a ratio of 5:3:1 (sand, crushed stone, cement) and 25% water. The solution must be well compacted so that it fills all the cavities.

    Locks, decorations, forged elements are installed on the gates from corrugated board last.

The professional sheet is good because it does not require painting. But you can buy ready-made material, stylized as wood or stone. You can decorate the gate with forged elements or other decor - on top or along the leaf leaf. To decorate the gate, you can trim the top edge in a figurative way, but then it must be protected with a profile.
If desired, the profiled sheet can be painted with special paints that are resistant to external influences.
You can freely use the gate only one month after installation.

Thus, using detailed manufacturing instructions, making a gate from a profiled sheet is not as difficult as it seems. They will not only decorate the entrance group, but will also faithfully serve for more than a dozen years.

Installation of a gate from a professional flooring with a gate - the most simple and economic variant. The profiled sheet is very popular with summer residents and owners of private houses. There are several reasons for this: this material has an acceptable price for the consumer, it can be easily cut into sheets of the required size and fixed on a wooden or metal base.

It looks like a gate made of corrugated board with a built-in gate

Owners of private houses want not only to protect their territory from the penetration of unauthorized persons, but also to make it aesthetically attractive. These tasks are easiest to accomplish with a fence and gate made of corrugated board. The construction of the first rarely causes difficulties, but a number of questions inevitably arise with the installation of the entrance group. Among the first - the choice of the type of gate.
There are two options for the wicket device:

  1. To the right or left of the gate.
  2. Directly in one of the gate leaves.

In the first case, for the installation of the gate, you will need to install an additional support. The second option is beneficial in that 2 (rather than 3) poles are enough to set up an entry group, labor and financial costs are significantly reduced.

The original design and decoration with forged elements of the gate made of corrugated board with a gate
inside the sash - the most convenient solution for construction with an automated control system for the entrance group. Before starting the construction of a fence for your site, you need to decide on the type of gate. The following door mounting options are available:

  • lifting.

Any of the listed types of structures can be equipped with an automated control system. The first option is the most popular due to the simplicity and low cost of its device. Despite the chosen type of gate, at the planning stage of the upcoming work, you will need to find out for yourself the following points:

The fence can be built using wooden, metal or brick support posts. Each of these materials has its own advantages. So, a tree is beneficial in that it is most easy to reach it. To work with, you will need a welding machine and skills to work with it. reliable and aesthetically attractive, but require substantial financial and labor costs.

Scheme with the dimensions of the gate frame made of corrugated board with a wicket door

A fence with such supports looks presentable, but its construction will take much more time than in the case of or metal supports. In order to make the gate impregnable for outsiders, it is necessary to exclude the possibility of opening the doors from the outside of the fence.

This requirement is relevant not only for retractable and automated, but also for swing gates. It is extremely important to choose the right brand of profiled sheet. If this material is thin, dents and scratches will inevitably remain on it during operation, which will reduce the aesthetic appeal of the structure.

Selection and calculation of materials for the gate device

Do-it-yourself installation of corrugated gates with your own hands is most simple using metal pipes or wooden beams as supports. , wall thickness - not less than 2 mm.

In order for wooden poles to be reliable and durable, you should choose a beam of 15X15 cm or 20X20 cm. Wood is necessarily treated with a fire-retardant compound, and metal is anti-corrosion.

The fence will be as stable as possible if you correctly calculate the installation step of the supports and select their desired section. For areas with difficult terrain, the distance between the supports should not exceed 2 m. For flat areas without a slope and elevation changes, you can increase the interval to 3 or 3.5 m. In order to find out the required number of supports, the perimeter of the site is divided by the value optimal in a particular case, the step between the supports.

Variant of gate design with corrugated board wicket

The length of the pipes is calculated based on the fact that the support must be immersed in the ground by a third. The above-ground part must include the selected height of the gate and the gap between it and the ground. So, if the owner of the house wants to build a fence 2 m high, he will need pipes or timber 2.7-2.8 m long. When choosing a profiled sheet, you need to pay attention to its brand. There are several of them:

  • "H" (carrier);
  • "NS" (bearing-wall);
  • "C" (wall).

Material grades "H" and "NS" due to its thickness has a higher strength. Therefore, it can withstand a large load. But in the choice of material for this parameter is not decisive. Therefore, it does not make sense to overpay for a load-bearing or load-bearing profiled sheet. It is enough to stop your choice on the brands "C8", "C10" or "C20".
It is important to take into account the dimensions of the gate and gate.

The sheet of corrugated board should protrude beyond the frame of the sash by 10-12 cm. The optimal wave height of the metal sheet is 2-2.5 cm. Manufacturers produce a profiled sheet 12 m long. When ordering material in a store or warehouse, it is recommended to indicate the size required for the construction of the fence and do-it-yourself gate from corrugated board.

They will be cut from standard 12-meter sheets. In order not to overpay for unnecessary remnants of this expensive material, it is recommended to choose a door area that is a multiple of 12. When purchasing materials, do not forget that self-tapping screws and metal hinges will be required to fix the profiled sheet.

Professional sheet is a modern, inexpensive, beautiful, high-quality and easy-to-arrange material. From it you can independently make wonderful gates. How? Read on!

We study the design of the gate

We will make the simplest gate of two wings. Having mastered the technology, you will be able to build more: sliding, lifting, etc.

The gate leaves can swing in and out. At this point, focus on the features of the site and your preferences. The most popular option is outdoor plowing.

The design consists of support posts, frame and sheathing. Pipes and profiles are usually used to assemble the supports and the frame. The diameter of the pipes and the dimensions of the profiles are selected individually, taking into account the dimensions and weight of the future gate. The main load will fall on the external elements of the frame. For the manufacture of internal parts, you can use a smaller profile. Sheathing is carried out with profiled sheets.

Choose the sash size

Before starting work, it is important to determine the optimal size of the swing sashes. At this point, be guided by the dimensions of the vehicle that will pass through the erected gate.

So, for the passage of most passenger cars, a gate 4 m wide is enough. For a truck, the opening will have to be expanded to an average of 6 m. Based on this, we calculate the width of each leaf. Choose the height of your choice. The most commonly erected gates are 2-2.5 m high.

Helpful advice! Make the dimensions of the gate with some margin, because it is possible that in the future you will buy a new vehicle that will have more impressive dimensions compared to the existing car.

To make the work easier and faster, we draw up a drawing of the future gate, indicating the dimensions of all structural elements.

We make the foundation

First step. We mark the places for the installation of vertical supports. In total there will be 3 such racks: one for fastening the gate and a pair for mounting the wings.

Second step. We dig holes with a diameter of about 20-25 cm (depending on the size of the selected racks, more on that later) to install supports. We calculate the depth of the pits so that it is approximately 30-35% of the height of the above-ground part of the supports. We take into account that the height of the door leaf is usually made 50 cm less than the height of the supports.

Thanks to this stock, the necessary 20-30 cm gap between the ground and the lower edge of the wings will be provided, and the rest of the stock, at the request of the owner, can be used to mount various decorative elements at the top of the structure.

Third step. We fill the bottom of each recess with a 10-15 cm layer of gravel. Carefully tamp the pillow.

Fourth step. Ready for pouring supports. We take part of the M400 cement, a couple of parts of sand and 4 parts of fine gravel. We mix the dry ingredients, gradually adding water to them until a mixture of a viscous consistency is obtained.

Fifth step. We insert support posts into the pits. They can be made from different materials, namely:

  • timber with a section of 15x15 cm;
  • round logs with a diameter of 20 cm;
  • channel beam with walls at least 1.5 cm thick;
  • profile pipe with a section of 8x10 cm with walls not thinner than 7 mm.

We set the supports strictly vertically and fill it with mortar to the top of the pits. In the case of using wooden racks, we pre-process their recessed parts and wrap them with roofing felt or tar.

To make the metal supports more stable, we can pre-attach by welding to their lower ends 3-4 horizontal strips of steel reinforcement, metal angle or pipes.

Let the concrete set. It takes him at least 2-3 days to do this. According to GOST, concrete gains strength on average within a month.

While the concrete dries, let's make the frame.

Making a frame

The frame is preferably made of the same material as the supports. Most often, the racks and frame are made of metal products. We assemble a frame from a profiled pipe.

To assemble the frame, we find a horizontal platform that can freely accommodate at least one sash.

The process is extremely simple: we need a rectangular frame from a pipe (profile) pre-cut into pieces of the required size. The corners must be strictly straight. We are convinced of this with the help of a square.

Having welded the frame, we strengthen it in the corners with the help of steel corners. To give the frame additional rigidity, we divide it in height into 3 approximately identical parts and weld parallel horizontal jumpers along the marks. We also strengthen the junctions of the jumpers with the frame with steel corners. At the same points, we weld the gate hinges.

Helpful advice! There is another popular option for strengthening the frame. To do this, in the center of the frame to its vertical sides, there is a horizontal jumper that divides the frame into 2 identical rectangles. After that, the corners of each of these rectangles are connected by diagonal jumpers. Choose any of the two methods of hardening considered, they are both good.

The frame for the gate is assembled in a similar way. If you want to make a gate right in the gate leaf, assemble the frame in a slightly different order. To do this, weld transverse and longitudinal metal lintels to the rectangular frame of the selected sash, thereby forming the frame of the gate. The average dimensions of the gate are 80x180 cm. If possible, stick to these values. We shift the attachment points of the hinges on the sash to the upper and lower edges of the frame.

Welders

We adjust the sashes to the racks

First step. We install the gate leaves on stands, which can be made of timber, brick or other suitable material.

Second step. We align the sash in all planes.

Third step. There are already loop elements on our frame. We mark the places for installing the second part of the connecting element on the supports. We weld the hinges to the racks according to the marks.

Fourth step. We hang the sash. We remove the stands installed at the beginning of work.

Similarly, we mount the frame of the second rack. To make the structure even more rigid, we can weld the two end posts of the gate to the posts of our fence.

To increase the resistance of the gate to wind loads, we can weld a horizontal metal profile bar along the upper ends of the support posts. It is relevant only for those situations when only passenger vehicles will pass through the gate.

We weld one part of the loop to the rack, the second to the frame, we will make cutouts in the profiled sheet before fastening.

In conclusion, it remains for us to paint the parts of the frame that will remain visible after attaching the profiled sheets. We select the color of the paint so that it harmonizes well with the color of the profiled sheet and the fence.

We fix the corrugated board

The width of the profiled sheet is usually 110 cm. About 10 cm will go to the floors. Thus, for sheathing a sash of two meters wide, exactly 2 sheets of material are needed. If desired, the gate can be sheathed on both sides.

Sheets are fastened with hexagon head screws and nuts or with special rivets. It is better that the color of the fasteners and the base material is the same.

If necessary, pre-paint the fasteners. We place bolts or rivets in the inner wave of the sheet (the one that fits snugly against the frame). We fix in each wave of the profiled sheet. For greater convenience, we can pre-make holes in the frame for fasteners.

The gate is sheathed similarly to the wings. It is only necessary to pre-cut the sheets to the size of the gate.

Helpful notes

The fence is ready. In order for the work to be done as efficiently as possible, and for the finished result to please you, read a few useful notes and take them into account in the process of manufacturing the structure.

  1. Gates are installed in a single plane with a fence.
  2. Gates and gates must be equipped with reliable locks and comfortable handles.
  3. Fences and gates should harmonize in color both with each other and with the surrounding landscape.

The knowledge gained will help you make high-quality, reliable and beautiful gates from a profiled sheet with your own hands. Follow the instructions, and everything will definitely work out.

Most often installed and popular:

  • red corrugated gates;
  • brown corrugated gate;
  • gate from a green professional flooring.

Gates from corrugated board according to the method of opening are divided into several types:

  1. Swing gates.
  2. Sliding gates.
  3. Garage doors.
  4. Sliding option.
  5. Lift-and-turn gates.

How to independently install a gate from corrugated board: instructions

First, consider the technological stages of manufacturing gates from a profiled sheet with a separate gate. In the process, you need to take into account the dimensions of the profiled sheet of the sheet, more precisely, the number of waves in one sheet. It is necessary to compare the data, taking into account the layout of the territory of the site.

Advice !

One sheet per sash will obviously not be enough. Therefore, it is recommended to proceed from the width of the corrugated sheet.

When installing gates from corrugated board, their width is an important indicator. It must be accessible to the entry of a car. In the amount of free entry, you must include the width of the rear-view mirrors and take 1 meter of stock.

The width of the supporting pillars is taken into account. If we are talking about installing a gate made of corrugated board with a free-standing gate, then we need to prepare 3 support posts. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the size of the gaps between the frame frame and the supporting pillars.

Often, they forget to include the size of the gap between the gate leaves and fittings into the calculation. Experts and practitioners recommend using the following entry widths of 4.5-5 m when installing swing gates, as the best option. At the same time, the gate made of corrugated board should not be narrower than 70 cm. The most common performance indicators for the width of the gate are about 1.2 m.

Mortgage installation scheme.

And another important indicator is the height. Based on the profiled sheet standards (length 2000 mm), the base height of the swing gates is formed. This is 2200-2500 mm. When calculating, the lower clearance of the ground and the gate leaves, which is 150-300 mm, is taken into account.

For your information !

If you think that the gap under the gate is too large, you can install a removable bar as a protective element, which is dismantled with the onset of cold weather.

Various decorative elements can be introduced into the design, which can affect the height of the fence. We are talking about the use of forging in the manufacture and installation of gates. But, this is a large and separate topic, which should be covered separately. Watch the video on installing the fence with your own hands:

A few words about drawings

You can't keep all the numbers in your head. Therefore, the drawing of the gate is a tool to simplify calculations and a kind of cheat sheet when installing the gate.

Swing gate drawing.

The drawing fixes the amount of material required. And also, it gives an assessment of the rigidity of the metal structure as a whole. The drawing is a kind of guide that serves as a bridge between the conceived and the real incarnation.

On the methods of manufacturing a swing structure

Swing gates can be made:

  1. Using one leaf: a single-leaf variant of the metal gate.
  2. Double-leaf metal gates, consisting of structures equivalent in terms of technical equipment.

In the first variant it is necessary to take into account the free space for opening the structure. This can be hardly attributed to the disadvantages of the single-leaf version. You need to understand that a gate with one leaf is a constant windage, if you do not strengthen the structure from the inside. On the other hand, if you try to strengthen the frame, this will automatically cause excessive pressure on the hinges, which can lead to sash distortion.

Second option eliminates the above issues. With an increase in the number of required loops, and additional metal consumption, the total cost of the structure will slightly increase. But having decided to install double-leaf swing gates from corrugated board, you will not be worried about the issue of windage. The gates of this plan are more reliable.

Now we can move on to the issue of strengthening the frame. This operation includes several separate steps using additional metal.

Stages of strengthening the frame

To give rigidity to the frame, you can perform 3 types of work:

  1. Weld a corner.
  2. Weld the frame inside the frame and at the top of the structure.
  3. Use jumpers diagonally and across the structure.

Different types of frame reinforcement.

All three options for strengthening the gate frame must be considered separately.

  • Weld a corner.

As they say, it is possible to get off with a slight financial fright in our situation of strengthening the frame if the width of each sash does not exceed one and a half meters. In this case, it does not play a special role, it is applicable to strengthen the "kerchief", or we use the "spacer".

note !

With an increase in the width of the corner, the rigidity of the frame of the entire structure increases.

  • Strengthening the frame with a frame.

Mounting can be done as follows. Install small blanks in the cells of the frame, grabbing them by welding. In this case, the pitch can vary from 200 to 300 mm.

On a note !

When welding, the use of a continuous seam is not recommended, so as not to lead the structure.

Another option. A small section pipe can be welded over the main frame. This will also strengthen the entire structure and minimize the windage of the wings.

  • Installing jumpers across and diagonally.

Answering the question of how to make a gate from corrugated board, you need to know that there is a feature when installing the jumper. If the gate is made of corrugated board with a small windage, then it is possible to install one transverse jumper. It is attached perpendicular to the long frame elements. But to strengthen the gate, it is necessary to mount a diagonal jumper.

Now you can proceed to familiarize yourself with the process of installing support pillars. It also has its own nuances and features of installation.

Installation of supports

Supports are placed at the initial stage of work. Most often, without much difficulty, a hole is dug into which the pillars are installed. After compacting the earth around the supports, the structure is concreted. Land excavation is carried out manually using a bayonet shovel or with a drill.

For your information .

The larger the diameter of the pipe, the deeper the hole will have to be dug.

As an example: If the cross section of the pipe is 60/60, then the diameter of the garden drill should correspond to 120 millimeters.

The preparation process includes feeding a mixture of sand and concrete into the finished pit. The thickness of the pillow ranges from 150 to 300 mm. Why is it necessary to put a pillow? It serves as a kind of fuse against the influence of frost heaving, and also increases the service life of the supporting pillars (their stability).

Support installation.

Before concreting the pillars, they must be primed. It is important to install the pipes exactly in a vertical position in order to avoid skewing the entire structure.

Next steps

While the concrete is setting, you can start making the frame. In the work, you can use metal pipes or concrete pillars. Less often, but still, sometimes piles are taken as a working material.

Further steps are the manufacture of the sash frame and the installation of hinges. Usually 2 loops are enough. But if it is necessary to strengthen the structure, add another loop. Profiled sheets can be hung from the outside and inside of the frame using self-tapping screws or rivets.

Let's not forget the accessories. These are no less important design elements than the previous components. One of the important elements of fittings is the lock. There are no priorities in choosing a castle. You can install a padlock, mortise or overhead lock. Luckily, there are plenty of options on the market.

A required attribute is a latch. It is traditionally installed from the inside of the structure. Also, it is mounted on a corrugated board gate.

You can set it to automatic. This will save you in the cold and rain from the need to open the gate manually.

Now let's consider the question of the device of the gate and decide on the options for its installation.

If the gate leaves are not made the same in width, then one of them can act as an entrance gate made of corrugated board. In this case, the load on the structure will be minimal, for the most part on one rack. The described design can be attributed to the budget option.

If the gate is placed in the middle, then the frame of the gate will act as a leaf reinforcement. Mounting the gate closer to the support post implies a load on the support post.

You need to understand that the gate is an additional weight for the entire structure of the sash, so it is necessary to strengthen such a frame for it and install additional hinges.

We will not talk about the advantages and / or disadvantages of the design, we will focus on the timing of production and the total cost. It is possible to manufacture and install swing or sliding gates with a gate made of corrugated board in a few days. The average cost of materials and work should not exceed 3 thousand rubles.

Finally

You can make a gate from corrugated board with your own hands, as well as install a gate from corrugated board, spending relatively little money on it. The workflow takes a little time. Installation of swing gates from a profiled sheet must be carried out in compliance with safety regulations, involving one or two assistants in the process.

Living in a private house, each person, for obvious reasons, wants not only to protect his site from outsiders, but also to install convenient gates with a gate on it. When choosing the right option, you should pay attention to the gate made of corrugated board with a gate, the popularity of which in Russia is due to the budget cost, as well as aesthetic beauty. The secret of the demand for corrugated board is that this material is the best suited for the gate. After all, it has such qualities as durability, relatively low weight and versatility of use.

A wide range of sizes and colors of corrugated gates

One of the advantages of such gates is that they can be made according to individual sizes, depending on the required span width, as well as the customer's wishes. Many people make such structures on their own, because if you have elementary locksmith skills, be able to weld metal, then with the right approach, this is quite within the reach of many. A wide range of colors makes it possible to choose the shade that will best harmonize with the fence, house and courtyard buildings.

In order for metal swing gates with corrugated board gates to be strong and durable, it is important to consider the following:

  1. At the first stage, it is necessary to draw up a preliminary design, in which it is important to determine the dimensions of the structure, the type of material used and its quantity, calculate the weight load, as well as the necessary fittings (hinges, handles, locks)
  2. The materials must be of high quality, and this applies not only to corrugated board, which must be purchased from a trusted manufacturer, but also to a profiled pipe of rectangular or square section, from which the frame will be cooked. The same applies to fittings, which must be resistant to wear, as well as the necessary additional elements: self-tapping screws, rivet "caps", deadbolts, stoppers and other things.
  3. One of the most difficult stages of work is the alignment of individual sections of the profile to obtain the correct rectangle, which is not easy to do because of the large size, so a locksmith's corner is used here.
  4. The doorway can be located not only on one of the sides, but also closer to the middle, which depends solely on the desire of the customer
  5. Taking into account the high load that the supporting pillars will experience, special attention should be paid to their appropriate section, as well as competent concreting.

It is important to understand that it is quite possible to make a gate and a gate from corrugated board with your own hands, but this will require a certain amount of time and effort.

In the manufacture of the frame and sashes, it is best to weld blanks on a flat surface with minimal height differences, for which you can lay a sheet of iron or tin on the ground.

If a person doubts his abilities, you can contact a specialized company that provides appropriate services. By entrusting the design, construction and installation to experienced specialists, the customer receives confidence that gates with a wicket door will be manufactured in a short time, which will last for many years. At the same time, the gates made of corrugated board with a wicket inside, the drawing of which is provided to the customer for approval, must be made of certified materials.

Options for gates made of corrugated board with a wicket door

There are many varieties of such structures, due to size and configuration, but in general, 3 most popular types can be distinguished:

Not all types are used as a facing material, but only grades "H", "C" and "NS" of the wall type, the metal thickness of which is not less than 0.5 mm. When choosing a suitable corrugated gate with a wicket door, it is important to check that the corrugated board has a high-quality polymer coating and is also made of galvanized metal. This will avoid the destructive process of corrosion and maximize the life of the structure. As an additional decoration, the bearing pillars can be overlaid with decorative masonry made of red facing bricks.

Numerous photos of corrugated gates with a gate, presented on the Internet, help the owners quickly decide which option suits them best. Gates with additional decoration with forged elements look especially attractive, thanks to which you can give the design uniqueness and “wealth”.

If the structure is not made of new metal, but of a used pipe, it must be treated with a rust converter, after which it should be primed and painted.

When planning to place an order for the manufacture of gates from corrugated board with a wicket, it is better to contact the company that can also deliver and install the turnkey structure. This is very convenient, because it saves a person from having to look for a team of professional installers separately. In order to be sure that the gate will be manufactured with high quality, it is best to conclude a written contract with the company, which will reflect the rights and obligations of the parties.
